Driving with a revoked license

Would you drive with a revoked license? My license is getting revoked for atleast 6months because 3 speeding tickets(82/55, 73/55, 38/35...dont even get me started on that speeding ticket).
I need to drive to my work, it is in my town but a good distance away and there is no way i can take the bus and a taxi is ~$8 per way. With my job I know alot of cops, i do security at a club. I have been pulled over 3 times by them on my way home, 2x i knew them, the other time i said where i worked and he let me go after just looking at my license. Im just alittle nervous about it because if i get caught this will be my 2nd offense of driving with a suspend/revoked. The first time i was charged with a misdemeanor(3rd degree), but it was reduced to a simple violation. 2nd time is a misdemeanor(2nd degree) also, and i doubt i will get it reduced to a violation again.
Would you chance it under these circumstances:
Drive to work: 8 minutes one way
Never drive drunk
Friendly with majority of cops(since i work at the front door and deal with them regularly, some of them even bring me coffee.
Dont speed or run red lights, but i have no front plate and tinted windows

If you absolutely have to, drive ONLY to work, DO NOT SPEED!!!!!!, obey ALL traffic laws, un-tint your front windows and put your plate back on until you get your license back. Don't give the cops any reason to pull you over. If the limit says 35, go 35. Make complete stops at STOP signs, always use your turn signals, etc. You know, drive like all people are supposed to. It'll suck but at least you're not likely to get pulled over.

i dont care, i got 2 speeding tickets when i was 18. stop sign ticket when i was 19, which i failed to pay for, just forgot honestly, because i moved to a new address and never got the notification of an outstanding ticket and got pulled over because the cop thought i was spanish and suspicious, which he gave me 5 tickets, 4 of them bullshit

edit: the tickets were, unlicensed operation, speeding 38/35, window tint, rearview mirror obstructed, unsafe turn. i didnt even have my acura yet at this point...i had to go to court since i was charged with a misdemeanor. outcome was plead guilty to a reduced charge, misdemeanor to a violation for unlicensed operation, plead guilty to speeding, and other 3 dropped. my lawyer failed to inform me that my license would be revoked.

Honestly? You shouldn't be on the road. Period. That is only my personal opinion.

I'm not sure if this will deter you or not, but I certainly wouldn't want to be in your position if you were involved in any sort of accident. Whether your fault or not. Financially, kiss your ass goodbye.

I'd stay off the road. If they catch you, it doesn't matter how, they will rape you. Think 6 months is bad? You may permanently lose your license if they catch you driving on a suspended license. Remember, driving is a privilege, not a right.

If it only takes you 8 minutes to drive to work, take this situation and turn it around. Ride a bike to work. You'll get in shape and get out and about. You did the crime, do the time. Just my

the reason why it doesnt take long driving is because i drive 5 blocks then get to a road with speed limit 55 and if i get caught at lights it takes long. its ~6 miles one way. and honestly, riding a bike in 20 degree weather isnt so easy. especially after ive been standing outside for 8+ hours.

Well dude, you've got to take what you got and work with it. You have no one else to blame for the situation you're in but yourself. There have been some reasonable suggestions for alternatives for getting to work, but if you're just gonna shoot 'em down, there really was no point posting this thread anyways. Either

1) Grab a cab
2) Have a co-worker pick you on their way to work
3) Ride your bike

...or you can continue on your path of irresponsibility, and ignore the fact that you have a revoked license for a reason and drive to work anyways, which by the look of things, that seems like what you'll do anyways. It is what it is. Those are your choices.

you apply for a special permit or driving exception I believe...not sure how it works with a revoked license...but its the shit for people with DUIs who get special permission to ONLY drive to and from work.

Other wise...tough titty...take a cab.

If you can't get it, don't drive. Do what you can EXCEPT drive for the next 6 months. If you're caught, you are done for good.....Live with the six months, or get the special permit.

I just got my full license back yesterday. I had a DWI and they gave me a "conditional" license. It allowed me to drive to and from work, the DMV, and my drinking driver program. You are allowed to drive for 3 hours anywhere on a day off from work.

You have to apply for a hardship license that allows you to drive to and from work. I'm not going to lie, I still drove to where I had to go. I obeyed all laws, and had to suffer with a front plate on my car. lol Good luck.

I'd drive. But ONLY if I tinted my windows even more, like limo tint..... dark as black paint on my windows pretty much. Then I'd slide it around corners, honk the horn and when I'm behind cops, then flip them off as I pass them, and then go double the speed limit. Might as well go all out if I'm going to be a dumbass anyways.

Seriously though I would not drive, but then again I'd never get myself into a situation like that.... or at least I'd hope not. My car gets too much attention as it is, and even though I drive like a grandma 95% of the time, I can't take the risk of getting pulled over for whatever reason it may be.

Good luck with whatever you do...

Is a work permit issued license a option. I know we have one you can apply for when you get your license revoked that allows you to travel during set times for work.

I didn't think people needed to drive in Long Island.

You guys are just wasting your breath trying to convince a know-it-all 20 year old not to do something stupid.

Odds are if you drove the speed limit you would be fine, but 6 months is a pretty long time, anything can happen.

When I was 17 I lost my licence for 30 days because of 3 speeding tickets. I spent the time getting rides from my friends, parents, and anyone else I could. It sucked pretty bad, but I guess it kind of taught me a lesson because in the following 20 years I have had exactly 1 ticket.

OP learn your lesson, do not drive. 8 miles is not that far, if you don't have a single friend at work willing to go 8 miles out of their way to help you out, you really need to reevaluate your friends.

Talk to your boss, maybe you can work double shifts some days so you don't have to get as many rides, and if all else fails, pay for a cab you cheap fucker.

DO NOT compound your problems by continuing to drive. The chance that something could go wrong as opposed to the rewards for continuing to drive are just too small.

Also, I don't know how it works in NY but I don't know that your insurance is going to cover you if you are driving illegally. If you get into a fender bender, you risk losing your licence for years, possibly for life. If you get into a major accident, you will be paying for it for the rest of your life. Don't ruin your whole life because of your immaturity now.

Driving in Long Island is a must. It's possible to get to grocery stores and such, but as far as public transportation it sucks. Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhatten is where you don't need a car.

In all honesty, I don't care about your inconveniences. You're a grown man, it's time to take responsibility for your actions and deal with whatever consequences they entail. The fact that it sucks is the whole point.

If you want to see if there's a way to still be allowed to drive to work during your suspension, do it legally (eg: there's an exemption) or don't do it at all (see above).

1) You should have friends/family that could drive to and/or from work.
a)If you have no friends or family, get some.
b)If you have friends or family, but they are not willing to help you out, get new friends.

2) You should make enough money to afford the $16 in cab fares. Consider it a retard tax for driving like a retard.
a)If you don't make enough to pay the retard tax, get a different job.
b)If you really think the tickets were all bullshit, fight them and get them expunged from your record.

3) When you drive in the next 6 months with a suspended license (and I know you will...), realize that you are BEGGING to get stopped with no front plate and tinted windows. You might as well have a bulls-eye on your car with a bumper sticker that says MY LICENSE IS REVOKED - STOP ME!
If you insist on driving, do yourself a favor:
a)Remove your tint
b)Put your damn license plate back on - No one will notice except you, and no, it doesn't make your look that bad...just fuckin do it.
c)Know that you will not be driving for years in the event you get caught, or god forbid, you get in an accident. They put you in jail, they will confiscate your car, and you will not be driving do your shitty bouncer job for a L-O-N-G time.

...and please, for the love of God, don't come in here with a "f tha Po Po" thread...or do...whatever.

Are you kidding? I am sooooooo hoping that in 4 months he comes back here with an "F the police, I got into a minor accident and now I'm going to serve 6 months in jail"

Meh, for all the time, effort, and thought to come up with creative ways to get around the consequences - it only takes one hard minute to realize you got yourself into this situation and there are some things in life you just have to deal with. DEAL WITH IT. Seriously, I can't stand when people do all they can to NOT take responsibility for their actions. If you disagree with the suspension, work on fighting it or dealing with it the proper way. Otherwise, get through the six months and be a man.

If your friends want to help you out or your family can drive you - great. Really though, it's not their issue to deal with, it's yours. So if they're unavailable at times when you need them, blame yourself for being in this mess, not them...they have their own lives to lead as well. Cab rides...$16.... what's that, an hour of your pay at work? Seems pretty reasonable.
