Dodge Charger RT (Daytona)

Dodge Charger RT (Daytona)
Always wanted one. When Dodge Chargers (RT/Daytona)were new, they were too rich for me. Many 2008 examples are going for $13K. It's not the lowest so I'll say average.
Many of us do have car bias. But the fact is Chrysler-Dodge is not a Honda-Acura in terms of reliability. Would you get a car knowing that it's not what you are used to in terms of reliability? I guess that's a personal decision. Have you bought a car knowing that it may cost you more $$$ and possible trouble? Or do you trust reports and research and stay away from these cars?

^buying used cars is all the same.
you kick the tires to make sure it's sound, then when you are confident that it'll do what you want it to do, you purchase.
it helps if you are the one doing the maintenance, because then you can spot trouble, problems, and issues.
matter of fact, I know we have one member on here who has a pretty blue Charger R/T.

When you find the right used car, don't dick around. If you like the car and it's a nice example, try to purchase it.
I can't tell you how many people I've seen miss out on great used cars because they "want to think about it overnight". The problem is the guy who saw it yesterday and thought about it overnight came back and bought it today, when you come back tomorrow it's already sold and your starting at square one.

Where are you located. Im sure there are tons of great options. I bet you can even get a SRT for a decent price if you wanted.
The interior is a tad dated (the steering wheel mostly) but that shouldn't be a deterrent, as they are fantastic cars...and they are meant to be modded and personalized.

Let me know if you have any Charger specific questions. I've had a great experience with mine so far. Probably the best overall
(definitely the fastest ) car I've ever owned.

Not trying to knock the charger but I read this article shortly after the thread was started. The title was 7 cars their owners can't wait to get rid of (not necessarily because they were bad cars, sometimes because buying it was just a bad decision).
4. Dodge Charger
Dodge has done a great job with the Charger’s revival, and in its current form, it’s both a capable sports sedan and a cool car to own. The Dodge Charger isn’t, however, the most practical car to own. It’s much faster than your typical family sedan, it’s quite large, and some versions don’t get the best gas mileage. Whether it was because owners found it to be too much car for them or not, 7.7% of buyers traded theirs in after a year.

I have bought two Cadillacs. I had fear, initially, of unreliability and being broken down by the side of the road if I bought American/non-Honda. Instead, I've had lots of fun, made many new friends, and mostly avoided unexpected dealership visits.
Go have fun with your Charger.

Yeah, I tried to make that clear with the "buying it was just a bad decision" line. What it does mean is there should be a nice supply of 1 year old chargers available.
