I always park way out in the middle of nowhere or in one of those "safe spots" either at the end of the lane or with one side of the car near a post or curb.

lol, I don't go 2 hours early but I always park on the ends or preferably next to an island. At my school's parking lot there's permit machines in the middle of the rows so in front of them there are "ends" but sometimes jackasses park there anyway.

I do it whenever I can.

Somehow it still amazes me, how whenever you do that, the line on the parking space on the other side of you apparently moves over, cause the car next to you always seems to be in your parking space as well.

Yea I agree. I'm surprised I'm not the only one who does this. Everytime I do it at the mall or something, I get dirty ass looks from people walking by.

This is how I park at work. If I don't get this spot, I park way out there with no other cars around. My car isn't anything special but like others I just don't want any dents or dings.

lol its all about the dedication.
i dont care where i am i always try to park cars the furthest away from where people would think "ugh i dont want to walk that far," but in moderation so it's still visible by bypassers.

Mmmmm G35 Coupe

Today I stayed away from my normal parking spot and parked closer to class risking a new dent but I didn't get one

However I just got done washing and clay barring my car and I have a few new scratches. You can't win em all

i park at the end of the parking lot all the time. but i will seek out a parking spot like yours and park like that as long as it will not inconvenience someone else.

At school I always park on the ends. But the ends are always curbs so there were plenty of time where I curbed my rims. It's OK though, they are OEM rims and I have much more experience now going as close to the curb as I can.

It's hard to park in the ends at the mall because I usually go with the girlfriend and she doesn't like to walk with the heels.

As for Walmart. I love how their parking spaces are huge. There's so much space in between the parking lines that I don't have to worry about parking in the ends.

But I will NEVER, NEVER park next to an SUV. I love parking next to vans though because of their sliding doors.

I love how I wasn't born so lazy as to have a problem walking an extra 100 feet to keep my car away from everyone else. If I have to though I just crowd one side of an end spot if possible without going over the line.

Back when my car was dent free and I was living in an apartment, we had 2 spots in front of the building that had a 4 foot gap on both sides for the handicap access ramps. I used to fight this asshole from another building for these spots. There were a couple of times I would leave for less than 10 mins and he would move his car away from his building and over into the "safe" spot I was parked in. He drove me nuts.

My daily driver is now door dinged all to hell and I no longer care about people hitting my doors.

Yep, I sure do. I've grown accustomed to walking a lot more because I park so far away.

My car is dirty most of the time, but I still park far away to try and avoid door dings. . When it's this cold, I just don't think it's worth it.

Regardless, that kind of parking annoys me so much. If I wasn't worried about getting keyed, I'd definitely try to block those d-bags' driver's door.

Weirdly, I have less of a problem with idiot parking in big-city Toronto than I do out here.

It was VHT Niteshades. To my defense, they were done properly in a paint booth and wet sanded, but gawd they were still ugly

There's still no defense.

I vote this thread live forever to remind us of Tyler's horrible mod, second only to simulated "wood grain" vinyl wrap on his engine compartment.

When I'm hanging out with Golfe .:R, I make sure to park my RS5 like this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rphilman1/9615887258/
How I parked my TSX at the gym, and do so again with the ST:

Or anywhere I'm at, really.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rphilman1/9071176532/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rphilman1/9086474884/
I will park a quarter-mile away if I have to. End space or bust. Number of dings after nearly one year of ownership = zero.

I pretty much park in the same manner as the TL in the original post when I park at my local commuter rail station, with my car slightly in the buffer zone.

if the opportunity arises....always try and park next to and into the "buffered" parking spaces. otherwise, just park as far away as possible.

funny thing, at my office in the garage...the area i park in happens to be way far away...and the 5 other cars that park in the row with me all park a space apart (kind of respecting each others space by parking every other). me, bmw, jeep GC, porsche, mazda 3 hatch, occasionally a golf and civic (both of which are clean). inevitably, someone messes it up and parks next to someone else.

i generally dont' get annoyed at double parkers that do it way out in the middle of nowhere. do it closer to the door, then

I always park at the right end of a row close to the curb. Either that or I take the walk or have no problem cheating a little into the dead spots.

park far away in a space I pull forward so I do not have to back out of the parking space. When my daughter worked at Freehold Raceway Mall if you parked in two spaces you were given a illegal parking ticket especially during the holidays.
