do you believe the gas/electric prediction?
i don't know if you guys have been listening and or reading press releases. Toyota made a press release they would by 2020 off ONLY gas/electric all their cars. like right now you can go buy a regular gas Toyota. according to the president of Toyota in about 10 years not gonna happen. I heard another couple brands say this.
Do you believe this?
Personally I don't. I don't think we got enough Nickle for Nickle batteries to produce the needed materials. didn't Toyota have to shut down the Prius plant for like 2-3 months because the production of cars was out running the battery production. Yes i know they can go to different types of batteries. but the amount of batteries required for every new car in 2020. i don't think they could put up battery factories fast enough.

Hybrids are not the long-term answer and anybody who thinks so needs to pull their head out of their ass and have it examined closely. Once the battery technology advances and hydrogen can be cleanly produced and safely distributed, hybrids will be yesterday's news. Electric and hydrogen cars are the future. Hyrbids are simply a stepping stone for future technologies.

I agree. In particular, hydrogen allows a similar fuel supply infrastructure to what we have with gasoline. Hybrids are definitely not the answer.

#2.getting or converting gas stations to hydrogen. yes i know select California stations have hydrogen currently. but for the other 49 states it would take years to get a service guy or person out there to convert it.
#3. what would you do with the current cars that run on gas. yes lets say goverment says all 2020 cars must be hydrogen. what will you do with 2019 and before cars. you gotta have the gas pumps for them for atleast 10 years.
#4. if it's goverment required for all new hydrogen pumps. would they(as the goverment) have to pay for them. much like the HD converter boxes. i think lets say you have 12 pumps at Smith's shell. you'll get 12 rebates where the goverment pays probably 75% of price of parts and labor then Smith's shell eat 25%. I don't think the goverment has the extra cash to throw around for a MASSIVE project like that currently.and I think with the shit President Obama got on the stimulus bill he knows better than pulling one of these projects.
personally if i could design any car power i'd pick Nuclear power. much like the U.S.navy subs.

i like hydrogen but #1. to get people to "buy in" to hydrogen in about 10 years vs we(america) have been running gas for a ton of years.

I won't buy one, for me it's either a dinosaur juice burning internal combustion engine, or a full electric powered by hydrogen or a plug-in with a range of 400 miles or greater, in either scenario it will have to look like a normal people cruiser, not these stupid ass looking concepts.

E.V.’s Are Here, but Can Utilities Handle the Load?
Electric cars are starting to roll out across the United States, and early predictions suggest they will cluster in certain ZIP codes where there is a mixture of affluence, early-adopter enthusiasm and environmental awareness. California, perhaps not surprisingly, is at the epicenter.
A 2011 study conducted by the Center for Automotive Research, a nonprofit automotive research group, forecasted that California could actually have more plug-in cars on the road by 2015 than the next five states combined.
Utilities are quite aware of the potential for grid overload due to clustering. According to Mark Duvall, director of electric transportation for the Electric Power Research Institute, plugging in an electric car is “like adding another house” to the load of a local transformer.....

Fail fail fail.
I was hoping our resident EMT/firefighter/Honda factory worker/farmer/liar had made a comeback.
