New motor mout put in after m other one failed. The actual steel casting cracked. Car feels like it isn't even running now. Also bled the brake fluid (only fluid I hadn't changed yet) it looked like motor oil.
need some help from you guys, I have been trying to find where my fuel smell was coming from since I started driving it it has dissipated but it would come back when I filled the tank. Today I filled the tank to the usual 13.9 gals and about 2 gallons leaked onto the ground. This hasn't happened before and the crazy thing is the leaking stopped after about 2 gallons leaked out.
I think I have been over filling the car (I always let the pump fill until the first click and stop) have any of you had a similar issue? I'm stumped as to why it would let me over fill the tank. Everything I read online says the tank is 10 gallons too

Are you talking about the bracket for the side mount? My buddies snapped on him at the top of 3rd and the motor fell to the floor. Luckily he is running a 3 inch downpipe that took the crash landing, saving that flimsy oil pan. However, on the way down the two studs that the mount sits on caught the one of the cam gears ever so slightly and it threw timing off. It was a horror story.
Anyways, where is the leak coming from?

Hi phee. I was just going to recommend you check this. It appears that the fuel tube is on the same side where the panel was poorly repaired. Often the neck for the fuel tank is bent or twisted when the car is involved in a collision in this area. Often it's only bent back into place and cracks where it's mounted to the tank. Check out the price of a new tank before repairing the one you currently have, as it's often not much more than having the existing tank repaired.

I agree with Terry with checking the price of a new tank...Although, auto parts stores sell some putty like stuff to repair leaky tanks for a couple of bucks....And a lot of people do not know, gas tanks can be welded, they just need to have a vacuum inside...Flame+gas will not ignite without the presence of oxygen.
So the fix is all dependent on what route you take.

Most come complete as the filler neck as it's part of the tank. Some tanks have a short neck, a rubber hose attached to it, and it in turn attached to a metal mount attached to the fender. In these instances, generally only the tube attached directly to the tank is included.

small update. repaired the tank by draining it and re-welding the filler neck. Also replaced the rubber hose that attaches the neck to the tank.
was in a small rear end collision a few weeks back and i am waiting on the repair check to come in.
No serious damage except for a cracked bumper and a broken drivers seat -i already purchased a new seat

Glad you found and corrected the problem phee. The car was involved in a collision? Was this after you did the bodywork?

Finally got the claim check and a new seat. Had a wheel repaired and put some fresh rubber on her.
Now onto the subject of backfiring:
Is it normal? Healthy?
The car has a 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back/no cat. It backfires between shifts and during in-gear deceleration.

Most likely a "burble" sound...Pull the plugs and check them out, plugs talk...Check the tip condition, gap, electrode condition, etc....You can sand the tip down a bit to clean them up, put them back in and drive around a bit, re-pull them and inspect for burning, fouling, etc...
And this is often a stretch, but you would be surprised..If your exhaust is a straight pipe then what often happens is you have no back pressure and raw fuel flows right out of the exhaust valve, causing a slight "burbling" sounds upon deceleration...
