on to the next one...
Check the RL forum... They would probably be more informed...
I think tampering with seat belt warning signals is illegal. Just something to keep in mind.

nanny staters have spoken
Well as usual, the knuckle dragging nanny staters have spoken. Ask a simple question and you get the holier-than-though nanny-state response. Duh.
How about answering the question without the stupid platitudes. Sick of you liberals.
How about the fact that maybe I carry alot of boxes and am tired of the front passenger alarm going off all the time just because I have some heavy boxes in front with me, and everywhere else in the vehicle.
Go nanny someone else, okay?

You better calm down or you will be gone before you have a chance to see how great it is to be here.

Apologies, but jeebus guys, have you read the responses to the original question ?? Where is the answer? There isn't one. Just the usual nanny-seatbelt stuff.
One guy responds, "your stupid". Ok, I guess it's great to be here.
I've combed the web looking for an answer to this question and all there is out there is nanny stuff. A real answer without platitudes, would be just ducky.
Thank you.

And you sir, if you're sick of reading smartass comments, keep your anger to your own, because, well, that's all that you're gonna find here. Smart comments from asses. Good way to look at it IMO.
Or you can go

personally, I don't mind the warning on the RL.. sometimes I get it as I'm tinkering around looking for something before putting on the belt. Now, on my dad's 2007 camry, it is annoying as hell....it starts out as a slow chime and then it speeds up.... I thought the car was about to explode the first time I heard it!

Get into a head-on wreck without your seatbelt fastened.....problem solved. You won't ever have to worry about that annoying sound again.

Fine since you asked nicely.
Go online and find a Seatbelt Buckle for the RL. Then take that buckle without the belt portion and put it into the slot to lock it in place.
Done.

And bferrari: just buckle the belts before putting the boxes on the seats.

I don't think i'd want to be in his car with boxes in the front seats...imagine airbags exploding loose boxes and other articles in the car...
The front seat is reserved for passengers, not boxes...
