Didn't get the G35x - found something else tho :)
Well I went and looked at the G35x this morning and it was weak. Very bad condition and just not a good car overall. I decided to go to my friends lot that I used to work at to see what he's got. He just took in trade:
^Exactly like the picture minus the tints.
2006 Mazda6 S Grand touring V6
6 speed automatic transmission
33K miles (still under warranty till 4yr/50K)
Heated leather, BOSE, 6 disc in dash, xenons with leveling option, ground effects, spoiler, 18" wheels, dual exhaust and pretty much everything else.
I think I'm picking it up. I took it home for the weekend and am enjoying it so far. Anyone have any bad experiences with the Mazda6's?
I'm getting it for $12,300 plus tax and I need to put tires on which will run 6-700..

I had no idea you could get leveling xenons lights on the Mazda 6. Looks like it has every option in the book too.

I never even thought about Mazda's but for the price I couldn't walk away. I need something for 2 years that will be reliable and have the options that I want. I would like to sell it then and not lose too much money...this seems like the right car. Trade - in on KBB is 12,700 and it's a very rare find with these options/wheels...

Mazda 6 = Not as reliable.
Acura > Mazda
Infinity > Mazda
Lexus > Mazda
Honda > Mazda
Nissan > Mazda
Toyota > Mazda
$12,300 could just be better spent IMO
But to each his own.

Many MODELS in acura/honda's line up of the same year range have tranny problems...
Lets ask killer...his wife had one as a lease, and he now has a mazdaspeed6. They love them.

FACT is that in my experience 6s and most mazda's have been less than reliable great Initial value but falls short compared to your average hon, toy, nis
But you can sit there and argue MY OPINION if you like.

Another example Lexus/Toyotas in the same year range are prone to engine sludge.
So, you can have "your opinion" but there is nothing about the Mazda 6 that has made it any more of a less reliable car than its competition.

You stating that a particular car is not as reliable is not opinion. You can back pedal your stance all you like based on all "your experience."

I dont have all night to argue with you, I stated my opinion, you responded with a less than mature attack ( unprovoked )
Im not trying to change your opinion, Nor do i give 2 shits what it might be.
You don't agree with me fine, you are allowed your opinion.
Get over it.

I snapped some pics with my cell this morning:
I need to take care of all the paperwork this week and then going to get it tinted. I think it's a great deal for this car and won't loose much when I sell it in a year or two...just wish I didn't need tires and being 18" I'm thinking of maybe getting a 16" winter set and putting new tires on the 18's as well...damnit

Its a 2006 Mazda 6, the 3G TL doesn't suffer from the same tranny issues as the 2G. This thread is full of false information

Hey tmnnhs81, I'm replying to you, say hi to your mother for me.
The guy is looking at a 12k car and you come on without reading and suggest a 23k car...it takes brains to have an opinion...

And don't get personal with me, talk to me no need to bring my parents in talk.
Thanks in advance for no more replies..

Great looking car! But I'm not sure about the fuel economy and power. A lot of my friends have Mazda3 2.3L, and they are getting 11- 13L/100km, or less than 20mpg. For reference, my 2g TL-S gets 10.5L/100km, or 22mpg, with 90%+ city driving. I'd imagine the V6 in the Mazda6 would suffer from poor gas mileage too, not to mention it's a bit slow.
But then handling and appearance, I think the Mazda6 is great. If I were you, I'd look for the Mazdaspeed6 and/or Subaru Legacy GT.

2G CL, 1G MDX, 5G prelude, 6G accord, 2.5G Odyssey... yourself.
Yeah I got the years wrong (thanks JaberJaws ) but the point is the Mazda doesn' have any less of a reliability rep than the others at this day in age. If you genius' can't comprehend that than you are totally helpless.

Great price, you bought it for about wholesale book...Nice car, too...but the 1st gen Mazda6's weren't my cup-o-tea...Somewhat fun to drive, I did a 6 ride and drive on an autocross way back when the car first came out and left there feeling there's a lot more to be desired...Even with the slightly modded cars they had there. If I had to choose a Mazda6, it would definately be a 'Speed6, but I don't know exactly how much different in price it would have been, but i'm sure not much, probably another $2k-$3k you could have gotten something like that...Oh, and as for reliability, don't listen to what some of these numbnuts have to say...you won't have any problems with them, they have been pretty reliable! Enjoy your new ride!
