I was on my way to work this morning and there is a dodge stealth behind me, riding my ass. i get people all the time who want to race and what not, half the time i cant be bothered. so we get to a light, two lanes, we're both in front(i actually pulled to the right lane cause i figured they were in a hurry and i'd be nice. well it turns out to be a girl driving, pretty hot too, and the car was in great condition, looks all stock.
just before the light turns green, i heard a turbo spool up!
now i dont baby my car, i drive it pretty aggressivly(take off from lights...)
light turns green, we leave the line, i figure she just couldnt drive, reved the engine before letting the clutch out, thats why i heard the turbo....so i accelerated under half to 3/4 throttle like normal-well she floors it, and is out!!

no way, even if i tried, could i have kept pace-this thing was fast. and she shifted like a pro. how fast can those things get with tuning
and are they turbo or TT from the factory- i think they are?? this one def had work done

And the 300GT VR-4 was Twin Turbo, not sure about the stealths.

They can be very fast though, but they are quite large and heavy and cramped inside.

A family friend has a white 3000 GT Vr-4 with 4 WS and a hard-top convertable

No idea, but even if it did, this guy would have no problem affording it. Some of his "other" toys have been a F355 Spyder, 63 Split Window Coupe Stingray (all original), a Viper RT/10, and a bunch of other cars.

no i was going to buy one but i love Honda/Acura and when the 6 speed came out it was a no brainer for me! sometimes i look at them and wish i had one of them too


i saw one of those 3000GT hardtop convertibles yesterday, with the top down, thought it was custom since i had never seen one before, now i know

 

They are pretty fast. Basically a 3000GT twin turbo but dodge.


SOrta like when mitsu came out w/ the eclipse GSX, Eagle made the Talon TSI... Just as fast, same motor, same chassis, just different badge.

ok well that explains it..... if the 3KGT had the "basic" mods..... your looking at a low-mid 13 second car. It'll run high 13's stock. Sounds like it was driven well, that's why you lost. It will also get out of the hole like a bat out of hell, if launched properly... AWD ownsj00

 

They did come in a turbo model, 320hp, 315ft-lbs torque.

 

it did take off pretty quick, thankfully i didnt try to really race, it would have been a bad start to the day

They can be made pretty fast. This local guy, Phil, has upgrade turbos and whatnot and ran a shitty time of 12.8@110. It's good for low 12's, but everybody was running shitty that day at the strip for some reason. TT AWD from the factory on the VR-4 model.. weighs like 3900 pounds stock.

 

Yes, the Stealth did come out with a twin turbo model, like the 3000 GT VR-4, I believe it was called an R/T Turbo... Both cars were AWD, too..

definitely. It was also one of the first cars to get 18" factory wheels. It was an absolute trendsetter back in the day - 4-wheel-steering, active suspension, active spoilers, along with AWD. It didn't get a 6-speed until '98 or '99 I believe. I remember the issue of Motor Trend with it on the cover in '91 that said "Ferrari Fighter". It's Achille's heel, though... is that it weighs some 3800 lbs... that means a test weight of right around 4k... but even with that weakness, it remained quite fast due to its AWD.

It was discontinued due to high cost / low demand, just like all the other Japanese supercars...
