Is this deal too good to be true?

Anybody else get this offer in the mail from their Honda/Acura Dealer?

I received a voucher in the mail from the dealership where I bought my TSX:

Two thousand dollars OR 20% over NADA for your trade.

Apparently since the TSX is holding such strong residual value, I can trade my '04 for a brand new '06 and be out the door for less than $5000 out of pocket.

Have just under 30k miles and was planning on keeping the car for a while, but this sounds pretty tempting. '06 does have some nice additional features...hmmm.

Does accepting the offer on your trade in lock you in to anything on the 06? Say you get $2k over value for the trade in, do you then miss out on deals for the new TSX?

They'll probably keep you focused on the "$2K or 20%" offer while the finance wizard finds other ways of getting money out of you. Be careful.

While one hand is offering you a "gift" beware what the other one is doing

Yep, from Jeffrey - but I'm gonna check it out for shits'n giggles. Like I said, it does sound awfully tempting. After driving 5AT, a switch back to 6MT would be kinda cool.

Keep us posted of what happens. I have an 04 6MT and don't owe but a few grand on it, if I can get into a new car for zero out of pocket and/or have no car payment and a new car that would be a great place to be for a few more years..... Though I'd really like to trade it in on a S2k

I'm gonna go check it out Thursday evening and see if this is for real or not. I talked to the internet sales manager over the phone today and he sounded like they were genuinely interested in taking in prime condition TSX's because they are a hot commodity.

Apparently dealers in MI are only allocated two new TSX's each month!?!

Allotments are based on sales... The more they sell, the more they get... Dealer I got my CLS 6psd said that they only got one 6spd a month... BS ?? who knows

I did notice that used low mileage TSX's aren't exactly a dime a dozen... If you're looking for a particular color w/ a 6spd and navi, good luck.

Whiskers sold his TSX in a couple of days (via the BM here)... but he might have underpriced it a little

That doesn't surprise me.

After my last service visit at Jeffrey Acura, my dad has explicit instructions for me to toss their flyers. He can retain the ones for Acura of Troy for the 2% chance I might ever service the car again in Michigan.

As expected, ypical dealer shenannigans. They offered my $20,250 trade in value - far from the 2000 or 20% over NADA.

The manager did leak pricing on the RDX is supposed to be around 31k base and 34 with technology package.
