I use it all the time b/c I just can't standing driving on speed limit, so I use cruise control to stay away from the pedal.

Contrary to popular belief cruise control kills MPG because the car is always trying to maintain a certain speed regardless of changes in grade conditions.

Hyper-mile peeps never use the CC.
Also when you corner cruise control will lose you MPG.

Only if I'm a long road trip aka 100+ miles. Other than that, no.

I use CC to rest my leg on a long drive, not to save gas.

But if anything, I'm definitely getting much better fuel economy when I CC since I usually like to play with boost on the highway a lot..

I only use it on long trips or late at night when I am traveling at least 20 miles on the expressway and there is very little traffic. Too much hassle otherwise.

nice to know you dont care about mpg. My driving moods probably change as frequently as a pregnant women's hormones. So i'm kinda the same way, although I have no boost or much power haha

So I realized today why I stopped using CC for a couple years... I have a problem with my car, some weird thing, I think with the transmission but I get some grinding is noise, usually at city speeds, but only when I"m in D5 and it happens when I'm applying constant light pressure on the pedal. Normally at highway speeds I dont get this, but when I was on CC today I heard the noise and what I do to stop is let of the gas or put a bit more pressure on the pedal and it goes away. Weird stuff, but looks like I'm done with CC for now till I forget again why I stopped haha

Last time I used CC was about a month ago going out to Vegas ..

Other than that, hardly ever use it.

When commuting or driving around town = no.

Traveling a distance, especially on interstates = yes.

When we first moved to NC I got pulled over like 3 times in 2 years... and that's when I realized they don't mess around down here. Ever since then it's CC on the interstates when traveling and I keep it between 5 and 9 over to be safe...

I would need to be on a very open road and actually driving the speed limit to use CC more frequent. It is almost never engaged. I also agree about how dumb CC is since it always wants to gun the car going up hills- it would be better if you could configure the maximum allowable delta in speed so it could not work as hard going up a hill as it does- likewise perhaps I would want to go a little faster down hill like I can without CC.

Since I usually exceed the limit, it's tough using CC and having to cancel/restart CC every 5 minutes- much easier to coast and pass when I can overcome a slower moving vehicle. Perhaps, I'll like CC more later but it makes driving pretty boring and my right foot is always hovering on the break anyway so it's not getting a rest.

I use mine every day since I have a relatively boring commute down a highway here in NJ at 70mph the whole way. I find it especially convenient when I am going to my family's shore house and the cops are always out for anyone speeding down the main road to get to the house (limit is 25mph so I set the CC around 30 to make sure I don't go way over by accident)
