Cruise Control
Just curious how many of you actually use it??
I used it tonight after a long day at the l.a. county fair and realized it was my first time using it in a couple year.
Never been a fan of the car doing things by itself, I like having control. But my feet were in pain so I let it rest haha

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Over here, I don't have a stretch of road to use it on. But when I am in the US doing long hauls on the interstate, yes.

Yes on highways when trying to get good mileage.

Not often at all. There's usually too much traffic and too many variables to want to use cruise control....I'd just end up constantly readjusting anyway. Have only ever used it a handful of times when roads were empty and on long stretches of highway.

ALL the time on my way to Michigan. If anyone has ever driven on I-65 from Indianapolis to Chicago, they'd know why. Very flat, boring stretch of highway. There was actually just an article last week about how I-65 has more accidents than any other highway in Indiana because drivers get into a "daze" and stop paying attention. This year alone there have been more than 1000+ accidents. I try to stay in the right lane with the cruise pegged at 75.

I use it occasionally on long trips but don't really use it around here because there's too much traffic. That and all of the idiots that drive around here.

When in Toronto, not a chance, even on the highways. Things are always changing. It's great to use out of city to keep speeds in check and mileage maximized.

Same.
Plus I'm a lead-foot and tickets are just too damned expensive. Long gone are the days of the $60 speeding ticket. More like $150 - $180, if not more. Can't afford that.
I typically set mine at ~7 mph over the posted speed and I've never had any issues.

I rarely use my car on a long trip, but when I do, I use it to rest my foot. I love playing with gears on the highway too much.

I use it esp on long freeway drives. You can 'drive' with your cruise... It does not take long to figure out how to increase speed by hitting the + on the cruise.
I also use it on 'surface' roads as it keeps my speed in check. Good way to not speed.

I used to use it more when my commute was longer, but now I only use it on long trips. If I had adaptive cruise control I'd prob use it more. Also I feel I can regulate throttle better than the cruise control can when going up hills, it seems to thrust too much to catch up whereas I can give it just enough gas to not lose any speed.

On any kind of longish drive (20+ min of straight highway) or if I feel tired, yes. But my commutes usually happen at peak hours, so CC is a no-no.

Yea, I've driven to vegas and back a couple times and both times i never used cruise control. Now i'm thinking I should haha, I dunno why I stopped using it, its not like I sit in traffic too
How much MPG do you actually save with cruise control? This could be good for me haha since its difficult for me to get over 20mpg haha although my last two fillups have been 20&21 mpg

^Why? Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me.
Never in rain. Sometimes it is too hilly where I am. Like another posted, the car wants to kick down a gear when I can climb without changing gears. But I-10 to Houston, probably 70% of the way; done deal.

It's very easy to get going a little fast(or slow) unless you're paying VERY close attention. Especially on a long drive, that'd be very fatiguing. Out here in boring old, flat Kansas, CC is a must.

The sizzle in the Steak
Don't use it hardly at all.
Contrary to popular belief cruise control kills MPG because the car is always trying to maintain a certain speed regardless of changes in grade conditions.
Hyper-mile peeps never use the CC.
