Crashed my car, now what?
It's sad, but just last night i was driving down the street and i took a turn into another street, while turning my speed probably was about 28 miles per hour on a 25 zone. I am unable to complete the turn and i feel my back tires give out, suddenly i have lost control of my s2000 and my vehicle is crossing the next lane over going straight at a parked car, i Jam my wheel the other way to see myself heading straight towards a curb and some bushes. I fly over curb, my car spins the opposite direction, I hit a "No Parking" Sign and i'm in the bush.
The cops come, and interview me and the scene, I am let off only to see my baby in a tow truck being carried away from me.. possibly for her last time.
The damage: I had a huge door smash prior to the accident on my drivers side door however now it's much more than a door smash. Also, there is a huge dent on my side skirt area because of the impact from the curb itself. The front fender (right where it flares) has a dent and it looks like i cracked it and my rim cracked and the wheel popped and was crooked..
I know I have gotten a speeding ticket just recently but I promise, I wasnt speeding or doing anything crazy. I can only say that it was a "freak" type of accident. I'm not quite sure what happened.. My mother was telling me that insurance won't cover me anymore, the rates would be high if i did and that I wont be able to drive in years. Also, she doesn't have trust in me to drive period. Is this my fault? Could this have been avoided? I dont know. I feel it was a problem with the ap1. Still yet, it was my baby and i miss it.

Let me guess.. older S2000 (AP1, probably an '01) and old bald tires on wet roads.

and how i see it, it sounds like your parents aren't willing to put you under their auto insurance. so there are a few ways to get back on the road.
1. find a way to pay for your own insurance. convince your parents (somehow), that they won't be the ones paying the extremely high rates for your screw up.
2. regain your parents' trust. this will probably take time as they still see you as their infant child and they don't want you to get injured or worse, lose your life due to another car accident.
3. from what i've read in OP's first post, i'm guessing the s2k is totaled? the next car you purchase, don't buy such a sporty, compact car. get a minivan or an suv or something that will let your parents feel somewhat less concerned that you're on the road.
4. get driving lessons from golf r.

as a 19 year old male, you bought too much of a car.
as soon as you got that speeding ticket, you should have seriously slowed it down, and watched and learned how the vehicle operates.
2nd, as a 19 year old, you probably dont have the funds to keep the car in tip top shape. (another red flag that it was too much car for you)
Tires are VERY important, as you found out the hard way.
the only thing you can do is wait.
wait for what the insurance says.
wait for what your parents say.
if you lose your license or the ability to insure the car, that falls on you, as its your responsibility

At 28 mph up over curbs, 180's lots of damage, it really sounds like you either punched it in a low gear or was going too fast. Did you ever get the hang of a manual transmission?

Honestly taking a turn at 28 in a 25 is a bit much.. Hope everything works out in your favor though. I actually wanted a s2k but my parents said it was too dangerous. I guess they were right?

Sucks OP, but you should really have learned from the ticket.

Are you on your own insurance policy? Did you have full coverage?

Yes, it's your fault. No, it's not a freak accident.
Fix the car. Sell it.
Walk to school. Don't drive again ever.

Here's what's gone happen...
the claim adjuster will look at the damages
he will determine (if you're fully covered) how much it should cost to repair the damage
he will negotiate with the body shop on said cost to repair the damage
whatever those two agree upon, if there is excess payment to be made, it will be done by you. And that's on top of any co-pay and deductible that you have on your declaration on the insurance policy.
And I'm thinking with your tickets, and this, you're either getting a serious bump in your premium or they'll drop you after this.

Elaborate on that thought.

You can hit a bump while driving near the limit in the wet in this car and it'll spin you, with nothing you can do to correct it. It's worse in the AP1. I've found out plenty of times on a closed track. This guy found out the hard way on the street.
I guess you'll just have to see what insurance does, if they total it or not, and how much your insurance will go up. It's probably gonna hurt given your age and the car, but there's nothing you can do about that now.

Oh, well. My S2000 is now a little more valuable.
In any case, all the OP can do is to wait for the inevitable. It is very likely you will be dropped from your insurance. You have no choice but to ask your parents for help in finding another company to insure you.
Sorry I can't be more positive, but this is the reality with the scenario you have laid out.

That sounds like a recipe for an accident.
Dylanz-get yourself to some autox or other driver training if you plan on driving a car that requires driver skill and intervention.
As for the car, if it is panels and suspension only you may get away with the vehicle being repaired

This wasnt a problem with the car, it was a problem with the driver and skills. Chalk it up to a lesson learned and wait till your insurance adjuster comes and looks at the car.

A lot of us crashed our first cars, especially when they're RWD. Just be thankful you're alive and no one else got hurt. I personally don't buy the specifics of your story, but that's all good, we all do some self-editing when we know we did something stupid. I had a similar thing happen to my '72 Skylark when I was 18 y/o, but at least I admit I was doing something very, very stupid by driving way too fast when there was black ice on the pavement, oh and I was coming home from a bar at 18 y/o. Life went on, I eventually got another car and it wasn't as bad as you think it's going to be. Once you make a mistake like this, chances are you've learned your lesson and it won't happen again, but man up to your mistake and don't blame it on the car.
