Couple questions about a window tint ticket, and other stuff

i got a ticket from the CHP for illegal fron window tints. now the cop said i gotta just get it signed and send it in.

i let it sit in my glove compartnment for a few weeks and i took a look at it recently, and i CANT read anything on the ticket!! she obviously didnt press down hard enough. i dont know what to do or where to send the ticket!!

i looked on the back and theres a place for the cop to sign me off. but it says above the box that i need to pay a fee or something, and i hae no idea how much. also what is "proof of correction". is the officers signature enough?

alright so through some intense slueth work i managed to track down the adress

so i called them up, spoke to two officers, who both had no idea what to do. they told me i should receive a courtesy notice (which i havent). i asked them if i could just get this signed off and send it in, and they said they dont know. real fucking helpful.

what should i do? i have a cop friend who can sign this off, but i dont wanna get him in trouble. under ID or ARD license i assume he puts his badge number? under agency i put SFPD? and thats it? just send it in and im clear?

I'd go down to the local CHP office or station. explain to commanding officer you're problem that:
#1. the officer that wrote the ticket can not write neatly
#2. when calling to ask how much to pay the 2 officers you talked with failed to give you answers.

what ever he or she says to pay I'd pay. it's not a moving offense so there for you won't get points on your record.

just pay and be done. if you don't pay it you'll have a warrent on you. so the next time you get pulled over or you lisence ran they'll haul you in. that's usually costly to bond people. It's just cheaper to pay now.

Why not call the court and give them the ticket number? I'm sure it's in their system by now. They could probably tell you the details if you need them.

Otherwise, when I had my tint ticket a few weeks ago, I took the ticket to the police station, talked to the first cop I saw, and he signed it with his name, police department name, and his badge number. Then I took it to the court to show that it's been signed off and get it processed. It was a fix-it ticket, so I didn't have to pay a fine or anything.

What % tint do you have, just curious? I got pulled over for mine in WA long time ago, but I've had illegal tint on all of my cars and never had a problem.

did he ask to come out and check the tints?

im thinking if the uncle tip doesnt work, i can try and find a dumb cop, and tell him that i had 5% on the back and got it retinted to "35%".....dammit

well since you are in cali, u can't get front windows tint violation signed off anymore... you pay the fine and take off the tint or leave it on.
