I drove 1450 miles this past week. Went to Rochester and Jessup PA. I averaged 29.2 mpg. Not bad for a lot of 80 mph driving.

Nicely done sir! I got almost 30 mpg over my 2200 mile trip last summer to Kansas and back. Love it

I've gotten more than 30 a couple times. I was booking it on the trip back from Rochester to make a meeting.

Thanks.

I picked it up just under a year ago and I've driven about 40K. I average about 3-4 mpg better than with my Infiniti. It is a lot more fuel efficient. And no burning oil. Hell on the last oil change I got about 7800 miles and I drained 4.25 qts out with 4.5 in.

The 3G is amazingly efficient. I often get 32 on the highway @ 75mph. I'll miss that kind of mileage.

Update time.

Mileage up to 117100.

I did an oil change and a 1 x 3.75 yesterday. Seems like I can get about 3.75 qts of trans fluid out at a time so I just go with it. I'm getting a lot better at doing these. Got it all done in about 1.5 hours with dinner thrown in there. The part that sucked was the 95 degree weather.

Car is still driving well. I will say that the suspension is a bit harsher. It may be time to put the replacement one on. Calling dallison. I have a set I picked up from someone on the black market that were on his car for about 1000 miles before he upgraded to Aspec.

I also have a temperamental passenger side lower ball joint. It clicks when I make a full turn but no other issues. No play in it and I cannot feel it when I am driving. Acura said it is fine unless I want to spend $900.

I will do the brakes when I do the suspension. More that likely that will be in September. I do not want to do all that work in the middle of the hot summer. Brakes are currently at 50%.

Tires - I have 37000 miles on the Michelin Primacy MXM4. Very nice tire. Good ride quality and wet/dry traction is great. We really didn't have a winter but when we did I didn't have any issues driving it in the snow. I still have about 6/32 left on those with no inconsistent wear.

The dilemma I have is that I will not be able to get through the next winter with them because I would probably have 50K miles on them by November. I am thinking about getting winter tires for them and just looking at getting Aspec wheels next summer. We'll see. I have a lot of expenses coming up with the new house.

Anyways....still enjoying it.

Wow, you really drive, don't you? That's a boatload of mileage. It'd be great to see you keep this car for a long time and become the next 4cruzin.

Glad to hear it's running well for the most part. The Michelin tires seem to be love it or hate it.

If you get winter tires, it'll give you plenty of time to try to find a good deal on Aspecs between now and next spring. Otherwise you might have to buy steelies for the winters or swap new tires on the stockies next spring, neither of which sound as nice as Aspecs.

Pics?

Glad to hear you the TL is treating you well

You'll catch me in miles soon! I'm sitting around 122,500.

Any aesthetic plans for the car besides the tint you already did?

Not really. I'll do Aspec wheels if I can find a nice set. Want to come up to PA so I can "borrow" yours?

I don't think I'll have it that long. Maybe another timing belt service.

Pics are the same as on the last page. Nothing new.

You da man. I have some time. I would have liked to do it at the town house because it has a double wide garage door but it is too hot to work on that now. September / October will be better. I'm not in a huge rush.

I will probably get someone to do the ball joint because that will likely be a PITA. I got a quote of $150 for the labor.

You know....I'm sensing some hesitation here.

I have to get moved into this house first and if I can swing it I will look at getting the Aspec wheels (not from you .) They look to damn nice on your ride.

I'll need tires by the end of the year so either I spend $900 on another set of MXM4's or spend $600 on winter tires now and then $1500-$1800 on Aspec with tires next April.

No hesitation at all. Have them for free!

I love the A-Specs, I think they are very underrated here on Acurazine. Would you be getting a set from a TL or a RDX? I think the RDX A-Specs look effing great but I don't really want 19" wheels.

April is plenty of time to save your pennies for a set of A-Specs. Personally I would slap some winter tires on your stockies and then pick up a set of A-Specs.

Btw someone is selling a curbed set of Gunmetal 18x8.5 A-Specs with tires in the Black Market for $500. You could have them refinished!

Glad to here you are having a good experience with the TL overall. Don't buy another set of MXM4 they are not worth the money. I would personally suggest getting some Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. Should be able to get them for about $600 or less shipped. We have put them on my mom and my brothers car and they have been great all year round.

I had the DWS. I hated them. Loud and could not keep them balanced. I liked the Michelin a hundred times more. And hell.....I am closing in on 40k miles with them and I'll probably get 8-10k more.

Really? I got a set of them for the I35 wheels and I think the Continentals are great. Quiet, no signs of being unbalanced when I'm on the highway (most of my driving), and a ton more grip in the wet than the crappy Toyos I had.

Maybe I just had a bad set, but I would leave the tire shop balanced and within 100 miles they felt like crap. And they had a weird harmonic noise. I really didn't like them.

The MXM4's are quiet, balanced, less flat spotting and I have not had any traction issues.

Update....

I just crossed 50K miles since I bought the TL. I'm currently at about 122300. Still loving it. She does need some TLC though. I've been preoccupied with the house and summer.

Today I ordered all the hardware for swapping the suspension. I also ordered the front lower ball joint that is clicking and new brake pads.

Why did I order brake pads from Acura you ask.....well I got 50K out of the set I have now and I'm still at about 30% so why NOT?

As for tires....I'll need those before the end of the year. Sucks. I am still at about 40% on the MXM4's and I have 42K miles on them. I'm going to run them until November. I'll get more than 50K miles out of them. CCC - That's why I like them more than the DWShit.

I'll swap the suspension in September after it cools down a bit. I'll probably also add the subwoofer I have sitting in my garage. My trunk seems like a better place to store it.

No new pics. I haven't modded it so what's the point. It looks the same just dirtier.

Winter Update

139K on it now.

Some pics of my winter setup.

I know....I need to drop it. That's not likely to happen.

These tires are not as harsh as standard snow tires and do a really good job on the snow we have seen.

I have put 67K miles on the car since I bought it and still haven't done brakes. And they are still at 40%. I'll swap them in the spring when I do the suspension.

Other than that it is still running strong.
