I used to run mine at 38psi. didn't notice much difference in ride quality or handling but fuel mileage went up.

Congrats! I've always had this weird gravitation towards bronze/gunmetal colored cars.

Purdy. I still have a soft spot for 3G TLs and 1G TSXs. Both still look nice. I would love to have a 3G TL to take some of the heat off my RDX with my commute. I was used to close to 30 mpg in my TSX in mostly hwy driving, and get around 23 in my RDX (less in colder weather). My gas bills are going to be painful during the 3 weeks I have to be in the office every day in Aug/Sep.

I usually fill my tires up to 40 PSI and then let them sit overnight and cool off and put it at 35PSI cold. By the time the tires heat up they are at 37-38PSI and don't cause extra wear or any other issues.

Little update.

I've put about 20K miles on the TL since I picked it up in May.

I took it out in the snow today to get a feel for what I am in stored for this winter. It performed very well in the snow. No slippage unless I forced it to. Even then it recovered perfectly. The Michelin MXM4 tires did very well for traction and stopping.

The only issue I have is the same as when I had my CLs. The inside of the damn windows frost up really easily. I have to find a good balance of temperature to stop it from frosting over. What do you all recommend for that?

I usually set mine at 67 - 69 degrees, unless I really want warm air. But when it is wet and cold out that seems to be a happy medium which keeps the windows clear.

You can also speed up the fan. Open/close the vent.

I had the same problem with the fogging windshield in my 01 CL-S and also have it with the TL.

I noticed in the new tsx. The rear window seems to fog up more than the rl. It seems the older cars were better with this.

The Pathfinder and the I35 was awesome with this. Never an issue. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and was inside for about 20 minutes. In that time there was a layer of frost on the inside of all the windows. I eventually had to wipe it off.

Missed my Edit window....Did you take the TSX out in the snow yesterday? If you did then how was it?

Hmm, I never had that problem with my TL I usually had it set at 70 degrees with the fan blowing at 3 bars.

Btw, glad to hear the tires are doing great. That's what I have on the Accord and I'm traveling to NY this Christmas. Should be a good ride with the Michelins

Warranty is all gone. I went over 100K earlier today.

Car is running really well. I got 29.7 mpg on my trip today.

Also picked up a new suspension for it. It'll get installed when it gets warmer. I stuck with Acura. I got a set from an 05TL - 6 speed. Looks practically brand new. I know the ride will be firmer, but I am OK with that. The previous owner swapped them out for Aspecs when he first got the car. I'm planning on dropping in those with a Progress RSB this spring.

Congrats on 100k! You drive a lot!

You should get some A-Specs to complement the new suspension

The quickness of it is similar. So is the quality of the leather . Other than that they are quite different to me. It's been a lot of miles since I had the CL.

I'm surprised they still run it. Thought it was suppose to be "grand opening" deal.

Well worth the drive for a $400 dealer TB service. I paid the extra $75 for the hydraulic tensioner.

Very late to the party, but congrats none the less. I never realized a 3G TL got 30+ MPG on the highway, and good numbers overall.

And an excellent looking car. Hope it gives you a lot of years of use.

Well....looks like my MID went off a tad bit early. I'm at 101K and it just triggered the B14 service. I called Hamilton. They said bring it in when I am ready. Looks like it will be next Monday. $500 out the door.

What do you all think about valve adjustments? How many of you have had it done?

I've never had mine done but I've considered it. The sound is much more predominant now than it has been in the past.

I really haven't noticed a lot of noise. It sounds the same as when I bought it.

Well....I'm at 104K miles now. I have to say that the last couple days this car has driven so f-ing smooth. I look down and I'm doing 80+ with ease. Barely any vibrations, low noise, power....everything seems to be clicking well. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

Future plans include:

Swap the suspension. This will get done around May. I got a set of 06 6-speed shocks and struts that were taken off at about 1000 miles when the previous owner upgraded to A-spec. I'm happy with the ride height. I don't care to be much lower than I am now. I know the ride will be a bit firmer, but that works well for me.

Upgrade the stock sub. It rattles a bit. I have a 10 inch Boston sub sitting in a box in my garage collecting dust so that will probably get installed. I will probably just power it with the stock amp though. I'm not one for a lot of noise anymore. I got old.

Detail. It really needs a good cleaning and a bit of PDR.

Tires. I'll probably need tires at the end of the year. I'm at 24K miles on the Michelins I have now and they are at about 7/32. I should be able to get through the year with them. If I can find a nice set of A-specs I'll probably pick them up and make the ones I have now a dedicated winter setup.

That's all for now.

I think any car that's subtly modded while still being in good mechanical condition is best.

EDIT: What made you want to mod this car (even slightly), but not your old I35?

A couple reasons....

1. It was an I35. Mods were not really made for them. If you added anything they looked
2. Cash. Mods for the TL are more plentiful and cheaper. I paid $100 for the suspension.
3. The mods I am looking at are very subtle.

Cant remember what your I was...but my friend had couple pre-2002 I think...Stillen made lots of parts considering it was a maxima...non-ricey seeing as it was mainly suspension and CAI. and never seen.

+1 to that. With my CL there were tons of stuff made for it that I like. With my I30 (same as the I35, just a little older) there isn't much, not that I like much if any of it. Even with wheels, there are about 4 designs I've found that I like...and 3 of them are OEM from Infiniti, and the other are look alikes of the new 19" G37 wheels

IIRC, Stillen didn't make too much for the 5.5G Maxima and what they did make was $$$$$$$$$$. I had the Injen CAI, Cattman Y-Pipe and UR Pulleys on mine. As big a blast as my Maxima was, it had mediocre handling....which is why moved on to the 07 AV6 after four years. (Sacrificing some acceleration and speed for better handling.)

Anyway, I'm so far out of the loop with Ravi that I didn't even know he unloaded the I for the 3G TL. Belated congratulations Ravi.
