Considering G35 Sedan 6mt over CL

Well--as I have mentioned before...my wife is having a baby and we are looking for a 4 door...(for me)---I currently have a 2001 navi cls...I can get a 2003.5 G35 6 spd sedan for about 28,700 loaded with everything except navigation.....
I really like my cl but..

I know a 2 door will be a pain in the ass with the baby
I *really* miss driving a manual
I do fear tranny problems down the road..(Ive already had one replaced)
If you guys were in my boat would you take the plunge? or lean towards a tl or something else...
anyone else have any experience wiht the 6speed SEDAN ?
It seems if i am going to go 4 door...I have very few options under 30k that also have a manual...

I might try and wait to see whats up with the 04 TL, but other then that you might want to check the 6mt TSX.

The G35 with the 6mt is pretty nice too. If you need it now, go for it, if you can wait a bit at least see what the TL will be like if it gets the 6mt.

EDIT: hehe if youre willing to shell out the money a 2003 540 6mt...whoo baby!!!

the g35 6-speed sedan sounds like a good choice considering the value. id rather have that, than the tsx.

but I would also wait for the 04 TL. It might not be as hard as you think with a 2 door and a kid. I know Dbox does it, so you could check out an 03' CLS6.

BTW, where in PA?

For 30k, the G35 sedan in auto or manual CANNOT be beat, no matter it's looks.

but if you could wait for the 04 TL, i would recommend it. its always good to have more options, and the new TL looks very promising. if 04 tl sucks, then g35 for sure.

TL will be out in 2-3 months, unless he is having problems right now, he should be fine.

I am in the Nazareth area...as far as waiting for the TL---not an option...Acura will not play ball with me in terms of getting the car under invoice...I can get the infiniti for under invoice due to my job...Where else has anyone seen anyone getting a loaded g35(minus nav) for 28k ? --I figure the new TL will be at least 32k...

The 04TL will probably cost higher than the price you have for the G35 sedan. If you can wait, I'm sure it doesn't hurt to check it out. I bet the G35 price would only get a little cheaper if you wait. But if you can't wait, the G35 is a nice sedan. My brother got the 2003.5 when it came out (so it's an auto), but the 4 door is very nice for a family. The rear doors swing open really wide and the rear reclining seats are pretty comfy. Only problem is the trunk isn't as big as the CL or even the TL. Drive on the sedan is nice too....so it's a tough call.

My advice is to wait until the fall. The G35 is reportedly coming with AWD and so may the 04 TL.

I suppose the V70R and FX45 deserve consideration with a family as well!

Yeah, if you're getting that good of a price on the car and thats a major factor then go with the G35. Its a great car.

I was just suggesting waiting for the TL cause lemme tell yah...buyers remorse SUCKS!!!

We have the '03 CL-S and I have had BOTH my 2 1/2 year old and 10 month old in the back with no problem (at the same time). With the way the seats move up when you flip them forward, it gives enough room to get the kids in and out. Not as convenient as a 4 door, but not that bad either.

Of course, this is my car, and my wife has a Ford Explorer, so it isn't our primary vehicle for the kids. On the other hand, since I have purchased the CL-S, we have used that on weekends for day trips.....great with the NAVI and more fun to drive.

Here is my 2 1/2 year old enjoying the back seat.

Yep. The CLS will be big enough, it's more the inconvenience of bending into the back seat to put em in and take em out.

Once they're in it's not a problem at all.

Awesome pic unix! Wait to see what the 04TL will be like...maybe the dealers will deal if they know you might get the G35 instead. Otherwise the deal you can get on the G35 sounds great! Tough call!

I will work out the numbers...Cute baby btw! Yeah I think the thing is getting them in and out...not once they are in...hell if the car can fit me in the backseat it can fit a baby! But I have concerns of getting them out in an emergency...etc.....keep in mind another driving force for me...6 Speeddddd! I have wanted one ever since I got my CLS...I love the car but.....and there is no way I could justify getting a new car to the wife unless its a 4 door..so the cls 6 speed is out..

I have two kids 4 years apart,, when they were under five everything was fine but now they are 14 and 11,, the mini van is not big enough,, you'll see soon enough that a video and head phones are worth their weight in "GOLD" and all the sports stuff fits nicely in the back,, two cars are the only way to go,, one for fun for Dad and one for the wife (minivan),,,
