Color Opinion.......
The time has come to order the new vehicle, GC SRT8.
Unfortunately, the color choices more or less suck for 2007. They weren't great in 06 either.
Basically, out of the 4 colors (black, silver, red rock, steel blue).
I'm between silver and blue. Don't want to deal with black, and red rock is nasty looking.
Would appreciate some opinions on the matter. Although I'm leaning towards silver.
Thanks in advance.
Steel blue limited, no good steel blue SRT8 photos. You get the idea though, looks a bit darker in person.

They really know how to limit the choices on this thing.
Inferno red is indeed gone for 07 and they replaced it with some dirty copper looking shit.
Thanks for the replies thus far, more would be great.

I'm kind of bored with silver right now, but I still think it looks better.

9 times out of 10, I favor blue ... but based upon the pics, that 'blue' looks like gray with a touch of blue tone. (Aside: if the steel blue resembles the BMW steel blue of a few years ago ... I do like that color ... but not sure how it'd look on a Jeep...) Silver looks better in the images but that doesn't mean very much. I agree with mattg -- silver is so played out. It's like, 'Welcome to 2001'. Maybe the next time I go over to a Jeep dealership, I can take a better look at the color swatches.
Tentatively: silver (based upon posted pics).

I'd go for the Steel Blue. Found this on Google:

His son has posted on here before, has an Acura I think.
Anyhow, I didn't want to post those because they are very old photos (pre-production SRT photos actually) and I'm not sure if they are an exact representation of what steel blue will look like. Even though it says the photos are of steel blue.
The one problem I have with silver, besides being very common these days and getting a bit played out. Is that I'm not a big fan of the chrome trim & wheels/silver paint contrast level. Never liked the look, the two actually clash a bit.
Appreciate the replies thus far.

And if the Steel Blue is whats in the pictures, which looks very close to BMWs, I would get that. My brother has it on his 325ci and its a sharp color.
If its light like those other pics, then I would go silver.

Steel blue. Don't like the grey interior with silver. That blue is actually pretty nice.

on to the next one...
I love that Steel Blue color and it's different...I've never been a fan silver cars either, too damn many of them.
I thought I read somewhere that 35% or more of cars on the road were Silver, more than black or white.

And congrats on the purchase. I love the SRT line and was close to pulling the trigger on a 300 SRT, however, the SRTs not having the valve reduction technology killed it for me (people in the Hemi 300C were getting close to, or over 30mph highway, but the SRT was much lower, like high teens).
Whichever route you go, be sure to post lots of pics after you pick it up!

But I did get lucky and saw a loaded Commander Ltd outside all detailed on a sunny day. Looked like it was either getting delivered or going in the showroom. Had the chrome wheels. I have to say it looked really sharp.
If Jeep Green were an option on the SRT8, I would probably get it.
White would also have been nice, they'll probably offer it in 08.
Thanks very much for the opinions, I do take them seriously.

The GC SRT8 does get big time bad gas mileage.
Thanks, I'll definitely have my photographer friend take some good photos.

This SUV is sweet. If I needed one and was in the market for around $40K, this thing is my choice no doubt. also, i dont think the value will tank like most GC's, if I remember correctly the 5.9 didnt lose its value so bad. Anywho as far as teh color goes, I would go with the steel blue bc silver ext. & Gray int. is gross.

Aaaarrrggghhhh!
Nice choice. Just make sure you get the NAVI with it. I have an '05 Limited with the Hemi and NAVI, etc... The NAVI makes all the difference in the world in the WK and is worth the price for both functionality and aesthetics.
Here's a pic of the WK with NAVI:
...and without NAVI (taken from a WK for sale on eBay):
You can put almost 700 mp3's into the changer (about 120 or so per cd) without hooking up the ipod, can categorize up to 10 or so regular cd's onto each "mp3 cd" as folders, and can scroll through the folders (each of which represents a regular cd) to find the songs you like my name (both group and song name) without having to remember that song #89 is the one you like.
We just went to Florida from NH and the NAVI worked great the entire trip.
The entire interior feels much nicer with the extra bezel around the NAVI unit. It's not like in the 3G TL's where the regular radio and NAVI fit into the same hole. In the WK's, the whole interior look changes and moves upscale with the NAVI.
Just this week I switched cars with my wife AGAIN. She drove the WK and I got the TL. The TL stereo (non-navi, so maybe it's an unfair comparison) drove me nuts compared to the WK's. I guess I'm just used to the WK now
