CLS 6MT vs. IS300 5MT
This seems to be what I have narrowed my search down to.
The CLS6 is faster. But that's about all. I think the IS300 5MT looks nicer, inside and out. The CL is just soooo conservative looking, too corporate. The IS300 5MT is also more practical (being a sedan). It also handles much better and is RWD, and has legendary reliability. Gas mileage in the CLS6 is better however.
Both are about the same price with about the same mileage. I'm torn. I wish the IS had the 3.2 VTEC Type-S in it, mmmm that would be nice. Any thoughts?

I know this is a very trite comment , and I know I am biased, but I always saw the IS300 as a "chick" car and when people see it on the road, it is seen or seems to have a perception as a "low end" Lexus...
The IS300 also handles way better and has LOTS of potential for tuning (as does the CL-S).
I
why, but I just never liked the IS300...As for styling, it is all a matter of opinion...As for the hot factor, I think the lexus has a leg up because of its brand name.
Good luck w/ your decision

I am very open to suggestions. I am trying to stay around or under $20k. Yes, I have found both of these cars in that price range. I don't want a 2-seater, I want comfort and luxury, and some performance. These two cars fit that bill well, too well since I can't pick between them. Any other suggestions?

i would probably go w/ the IS just based on the huge potential for that car. course i'm not TOO into modding my car, and i'm not sure if this plays a big factor for you. but it would be nice to be able to shop for some rims w/ a nice lip for a change.
but i would definitely try and test drive them both. My good friend has a 5sp IS, and it isn't very fun to drive. i don't know what it is about that transmission that makes it kinda hard to drive, but you should really try test driving them.
actually just buy http://www.is300.net/forums/showthre...ght=supra+swap and be done w/ it..........too bad it's not the 5sp you're looking for tho.
