Do you think they general car buying public realizes that the Acura 3.2 CL is discontinued? I mean, not taking in to effect your vast knowledge of the CL, if you were just some regular car driver, would you think it was toast?

Im curious because I think the 03' has all the cues of the 'newer Acura body styles and can hold its own still

 

general public don't even know Acura = Honda

 

2 door coupes have been out of fashion for a while, but I still like 'em.

 

I think 99.8% of the car buying public couldn't care less about the CL, even when it was in production.

And that's fine with me.

Thats a very good point. I like the fact that I dont see that many of them. I mean, its not like they are rare but its not your everyday car. And I would hate for a new body CL to come out right now because I would have to figure out some way to buy it.

The general public doesnt even know what a CL is, let alone give a shit whether they still make it or not.

Those that do know what they are usually dont know there was a 1st gen, and only know of the 2nd gens.

 

The only person I've run into that knew what a CL is was one of my VW bus fiends. He owns a 1st gen CL

I overheard a 2nd Gen TL owner (guy at work) call my car a RSX when his son asked about my CL

Another woman at work just bought a 2000 TL and asked my opinion of it before she bought it cause she heard that I owned an "Acura".

 

I didnt even know there was a 1st gen CL till i came onto this forum.

 

If you guys are serious about the CL being no more, that sucks. with the 04/05 TL i would have thought they would come out with a SICK CL COUPE.

 

Yep. The general public love toyota/lexus. Just gas and go. Don't have to worry about anything. Toyota/Lexus = Comfort level.

I run into people everyday who dont know what my car is. I get looks at traffic lights and just driving around from people staring at my car.

Just two days ago a guy driving the opposite way while I was sitting at a light slowed down and was checking my car out then continued on his way.

I too love that there arent many around.

 

I get ppl all the time asking me wtf it is, it really is a rare car around metro detroit. I see maybe 1 every 2-3 weeks, let alone a type-s. How are ppl supposed to know its dc'd if they have barely ever seen any? lol

Actually, its this statement I find to more idiotic.

It's a machine and has to maintained like any other machine to stay working, reliable, and driveable.

Lexus is a luxury/comfort marque not a luxury/sport marque. Its main demographic is for an older crowd and soccer moms. You don't like them fine. Most of the poeple on this forum wouldn't buy one because it is not the sporty type of car we want at this point in time, myself included. But your remarks are so far off base its hilarious.
