And yes, I very nearly bought Slys GSR but the timing wasn't right. I wanted it badly too. Shockingly, the insurance on the GSR was less then the CL.

I'm sure they can find a little more form without reducing function

More parts creates more drag and weight.

The GSR was $8 less per month. To put that into comparison, a 2000 Accord EX V6 is $12 less then the CL per month. Shockingly, the FR-S is less then any of them. I can't wait until November when I turn 25 and my premiums go down even further.
If I build the FR-S the way I want to, Im going to look into declaring all of the parts on it.

It's because the FR-S is too slow.

You should remove that cl build link in ur sig since it is pointless and you mean nothing to us cl owners anymore.
I thought it was funny that TRD released a supercharger kit for the frs for racing competition only that costs $26k and you have to buy 2 superchargers so you have a spare at $52k not including the car. They are only offering it for sale so that they can use it to compete in racing per the rules.
On forums and car apps people are throwing a fuss over this. They don't understand the difference between a competition spec s/c and one sold to the public.
I shouldn't be surprised because they don't understand why race cars are so expensive. "A 370z race car costs $130k, you have to be kidding me I can buy a supercar for that money."
I dunno why you are all so upset over the looks of that gt86 previously posted. You do realize it is a racecar and it is all about function don't you? I actually really like it.

First off this is a drift car, not a race car, and its sole purpose is winning Formula D drifting events. If you can't respect that I dunno what to say. This is a first class quality build with quality parts with a purpose.
Those pics are from the cars first shake down test. It is only 95% complete. The red doors will be replaced with dry carbon doors. They are making a hood scoop to cover the intake filter. They still need to make a custom rear diffuser section. The unfinished multicolored exterior will be repainted white.
Some other info is the rear lateral windows were replaced with custom ducts/scoops to feed the rear mounted intercoolers. It uses a Nascar TRD V8 engine which is pretty cool that it still uses a Toyota engine. The overfenders are necessary for drifting from a performance standpoint. They allow a lot more clearance to push the wheels and track further out plus allow for more negative camber as well as other adjustments.

You guys would be better off if you actually spent the time to research something before posting about it. Here is the link if you want to bother reading it.

Quality parts indeed, holy shit.
Now that I know what it's for, I respect it a lot more. But as of now, it's still ugly. Finishing paint and body work will make it look 1000x better.
