To be completely honest, I just don't have the time. I can't post the vids since I need to upload/edit the vids at home. I've been working non-stop, running around the East Coast, and getting ready to move. If Im home, Im not on the computer.

Also, some of you now how anal I am about keeping the car clean. I've been so busy I haven't had the time to wash the car for the past two weeks. I typically wash it twice a week

I'd usually do a maintenance wash on Wednesday and a full fledged wash on the weekend. The car is an absolute mess. Its depressing.

I've never done it, and I'm 40. I have a religious reason, though. Even if I didn't, my family tree has a scary history of alcoholism; it's just a good idea for me to stay away.

I don't knock any one for their religion, but the alcoholic thing eh that's more along the lines of not having self control. If you don't know when to say when you shouldn't drink...and saying "I've had enough" right before you pass out is not self control

Uhhh, you might want to read up on genetic predisposition to addiction.

This. My father is an alcoholic (recovering, been clean for a few years), his father was an alcoholic, my brother is following their footsteps

I'd rather not venture down that path. Plus I just never felt the need to drink. I feel the same way about drugs. I've never smoked pot nor have I ever had the desire. Im probably the only one in my family thats never done it.

Im what you kids call a "square"

[sigh] A "disposition" is not the same as a guaranty. Nevertheless, far be it from me to disabuse you of your ignorance on this issue.

So no one is at fault for their own actions? I'm not saying disposition to any addiction doesn't exist. But its a choice above everything else, like i said "im an alcoholic because my father was" is an excuse, your father didn't pour drinks down your throat, that was your decision.

Sorry about the small thread hijacking Morgan, but lets be honest this is a rambling build thread

Does anyone think anyone wakes up one day and decides to be an alcoholic? It creeps up on you. Drink a few times a month, hits stressfull time in life, bam, every weekend...feels good to have a light buzz...then you have it every day. Then you need it.

Drinking often, and binge drinking are 2 different things but technically, both are alcoholics. I've had some scary incidents when drinking, but I'm aware and a work in progress so I keep getting more mature about it.

Nobody is immune but I do believe that there are genetic predisposition but more than that, I think it has to do with being exposed to it at an early age. You're around people that overdo everything, it'll rub off on you. If you think you're untouchable and it's never going to affect you, you're already on the wrong path.

I honestly wish I didn't drink...but I simply enjoy the buzz at tailgtes, and house parties etc too much. I gave it up for a few months a few years back and it felt great...felt good at myself and it was awesome to know that I could drive anywhere, anytime with anyone...safely.

To clarify the record, with how you've stated this - I am not an alcoholic.

Nevertheless, you are setting up a false dichotomy. I never said a predisposition removes personal responsibility. Apparently, you are taking a binary approach on this topic; life is more nuance that than, I'm afraid.

Literally had a "Close Encounter of the Third Kind"....get it? Three cars, Third Kind"? Oh, okay, that was lame. I admit it.

I never said your an alcoholic, i meant in a very general way. And as i was trying to say having a history doesn't make someone an alcoholic, being an alcoholic makes you an alcoholic. Which is what meant when i said that hearing im an alcoholic because my father was one, is like hearing im a pedofile because my father was.

Yeah, I know. Just clarifying the record.

There is literally a mountain of good scientific research that says otherwise. Nevertheless, I guess I'm just saying I'm open to the possibility that, for some people, the choice to take even one drink can result in physical cravings which are much more difficult for them to overcome than for the average human.
