Did this to my car last night (rear driver side door) and didn't have the courtesy to punch my in the nuts afterwards:

Damn that's a bitch! I hate it when someone takes all the effort to park away, keep their car clean, baby it and a stupid fuck comes and does something like this. Drives me nuts!

Charliemike's Jetta Sportswagon and E36 328i Thread

I bought a 2008 Mazda3 and between the slipping clutch, coolant leak, and screwed up CV joint the dealer just wouldn't fix I got tired of dealing with it. So, after three months and four visits to the service department I traded it in.

I got a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen SE 5MT. Certified and only 15k miles.

It's a much better car and I really am glad I finally got something I think I can keep for a while now.

I'm going to get the windows tinted right away. The car has a half-decent head unit with Sirius so I'm not inclined to do anything about it right away.

Eventually I'm going to put snows on the stock wheels and then get some different wheels and summer tires.

Fingers crossed, I'll be able to keep the car for a while.

Congrats! another wagon on the board. This is one of the cars that I'm hoping the wife will consider when we need to replace her car.

Any plans on what you are going to upgrade yet?

Love the jetta though, congrats!

Dude, I know ... But I'd have had to go with an Audi with some serious miles on it in order to get an AWD wagon for $17k.

I'll work to get this paid off as soon as I can and then find a toy to assuage my RWD/AWD fetish

Thanks man. The JSW is a nice car.

Short term is tinted windows. And, if I figure out how to retro-fit the 9w3 Bluetooth into the car. That may require a new steering wheel and at that point I'll be looking at a TT-S wheel if I can retrofit the steering wheel controls into the headunit.

Then lowering and some Hartmann reps. Thinking either RS4 DTMs or RS6 reps. I still have my Audi S4 wheels (VMRs and Hartmanns) but apparently they won't fit because of the offset. I might see what it looks like with one on the car tomorrow but the wheels are 19x8.5 ... who knows.

After that, I don't know. Thunderbunny front with Audi S6 LEDs perhaps.

I plan to keep this car for a while so it'll be a work in progress. They headunit isn't great.

I like the RS6 replicas more. At least, it looks like it would flow more.

Yeah I'm gonna start nerding out on researching what people have done to their JSWs with wheels and drops.

I forgot how much I missed heated seats until tonight.

The car-buying process is amazing. I test drove the car this morning, left and came back and then got the deal done in about 10 minutes.

FOUR HOURS later I had the keys and drove off.

Just nuts.

I thought for sure there was going to be another BMW added to the Beemerzine, I mean, Acurazine.

Nice pickup though!

I think CM would be getting an Audi, not a BMW, if anything

oh and about the car buying process that's why I prefer to buy from a private owner.

Yeah no shit but as much as I drive, I felt I need to take advantage of the 2/24 certified warranty.

What a long bag of suck though

Great pickup, some RS4 reps and a nice drop would take this car a long way. Can't wait to see it summer mode already. Haha

Congratulations Dave! I definitely saw this coming as you were complaining often about the M3 and loving the JSW! As for keeping it, until A4 Avant's are coming down soon enough...

Thunder Bunny? That's what its called? Never knew, it sounds a little better than "the Jetta TDI Cup front end"

I think its hot too, that's probably what I'd do to my Jetta/Golf if I had one

Yeah, I was wondering about that too but I think I've figured out the plan with that ... This car is good enough to haul my dogs and be a DD.

If I get another car, it's going to be something like a lease where I can do 10k miles a year on it because the Jetta is paid for.

Thanks for the congrats ... I need to figure out how to retrofit a GTI steering wheel with controls on the steering wheel for the radio and the retrofitted bluetooth. Looks like you have to replace the controller in the steering column.

Lots to do to get the JSW to where I want it to be
