Changing my Brakes on my Lexus.. had a question...

I rather post this question here than Club Lexus .. cuz .. quiet honestly I trust the answers I get here more than over there... feel like there are more competent DIY'ers here than over on that board. Most of them over there prefer to get their work done by paying...

So here's the question... I'm gonna install the Duralast Cmax Gold Pads.. and they are suppose to come with "Ultra Quiet with patented nitrile rubber shim. " So I'd like to know if you guys would still apply the antisqueal that comes in a bottle to this?

To me it looks like that the shim is actually a "cosmetically" pleasing layer of anti squeal already applied.

If the rubber shim is large enough so that no part of the piston(s) will make contact with the metal backing of the pad, I wouldn't use the anti squeal lube. That's all the anti squeal lube is for, under light pressure to keep the piston(s) from rubbing on the metal.
