Cars most expensive to insure

great this is one list I dont want to be on

Top 10 Most Expensive Cars to Insure for 2004
By Edmunds.com Editors
Date Posted 01-29-2004

Although auto insurance costs vary widely depending on where you live, how many accidents you've had in the past, how many miles you drive each year and so on, the kind of car you drive also helps insurers make decisions about you. To help out, we've compiled a list of the 10 cars most likely to command the highest insurance premiums based on five-year projections of the Edmunds.com True Cost to OwnSM (TCO) pricing system. Most of these cars are expensive to buy anyway, so if you're wealthy, a few thousand dollars more won't seem like a big deal. But if you're scraping together all your assets to buy one of these, keep in mind that you've got to budget for insurance costs as well.

1. Mercedes-Benz CL-Class

2. Acura NSX

3. Porsche 911

4. Audi A8

5. Lexus SC 430

6. Chevrolet Corvette

7. Jaguar XKR

8. Dodge Viper

9. BMW M3

10. Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Your female, you get good rates.

I am also 19, but male and I was paying $3200 for a year on a CL-S.

Plus you have a 1st gen CL which aren't that expensive to insure.

I have everyone beat for insurance, I pay 5400$ a year, 500 deductable. This is one thing I didnt want to win...but there are others on the board paying more.

My co-workers pays 2400 a year for a dodge neon..on his parents policy. Paying more for the car insurance than the car over a 4yr period. This is an SXT, not an SRT.

This is why the nsx is number 2

One hit anywhere and the aluminum frame will be bent. The car is hard to fix and easy to total. @ ~$80k for a new one insurance won't be cheap.

1st non navi 03 cls6 was $1,013.

Sold that one, bought 03 cls6 navi, no changes in policy, $949.

That navi acts like lojac, the insurance company told me.

When I got my Acura in Queens, my insurance rate was $4800 a year. Our precinct years ago had the highest auto theft rate in the country, so the insurance premiums went sky high. After Guliani came in the car theft rate dropped dramatically, but the insurance rates stayed at the same rate. Bastards

I moved to CT and pay SIGNIFICANTLY less.

Actually Lou, the insurance for the Z is quite low. Lower than my CL was.
