Carbon Fiber Lotus

I wonder how much the car weighs now, but non the less the car is hot! Hope this isn't a repost.

That's a S1, which was lighter then the S2 stock. The S1 was never brought over here for street use, strictly track, the S2 that was brought over here is the heaviest elise and is often reffered to as the "fed elise." There are a few carbon fiber S2's out there, but its very expensive and the weight savings is not huge, its not like any of the body panels are metal, its all fiberglass.

Here is a carbon fiber bodied S2, and before you comment on the horrible yellow trim, understand it serves a purpose of better visibility on the track.

THat Sector 111 car is pretty sweet. I've been to their shop when I did some work w/ them and have seen the project progress in person. It's pretty killer

That's cool! Any contact I've had with them has been good, while there stuff is not cheap, you are getting what you pay for(except for the radiator, its long story.) In the elise community there reputation is second to none, though blackwatch racing also has a very good reputation.

VIS has front and rear clams available in CF, many make the roof, rear trunk and front hood inserts. The doors however, are rare and expensive, sector111 doesn't have them on their website, but they can get them and they are $5k per door.

Even the roof scoop looks at home. I love those big, lightweight OZ wheels.
