Car Gets HOT!!

Now that it is summer and my car is sitting out side some, it is getting REALLY HOT. Is there anything easy and cheap to do to block out some sun? I might get one of those cardboard things that go on ur front dash but they look Really ugly IMHO and I was thinking of getting a tint but don't really want to drop that kind of money in this car as I won't have it much longer. Thanks
BTW this is my 97 Accord LX I am talking about

My step dad gave me one of those car windshield shades that twists close for easy storage. Works pretty good at keep the interior (and especially the steering wheel) cool.

Scribby started a thread about this one:

about how much can I get a cheap but decent tint job for? I really don't want to put much money in this car, it is 8 years old with a salvage title and I will probably be getting rid of it in like a year or so. My mom also said she doesn't want me to get a tint b/c my car is already ghetto enough looking. I thought I read somewhere, I think on here about something u can put on your windows, like a polish or something, that reduces light by like 20% or something. kinda sounds like bs to me but might be worth a try

Tint won't help much, it will only slow the heat a little bit. You still have the greenhouse effect through the windshield. Crack your windows a little bit to alleviate some of the heat and use an aluminized shield.

I park in the shade with my cover on so it is all good with me.

But yeah, the best bet would be to get an aluminized windshield shield. You can pick up a universal one at wallyworld for about 25 bucks.

Too bad you don't have those window visors or whatever they're called that go on the side windows. Maybe you can pick some up at a junkyard...
