Just recently I was watching TV and two car ads really annoyed me for some reason. The first was for the Maxima. This is the one where the guy puts his hand on his g/f's ? car and gets that vision of driving it, ect. What bothers me is if you listen, it sounds almost like the car is turbocharged, which we all know it isn't. Like I hear a turbo spooling sound when they go through the whole vision thing. Just bothers me because for a minute I thought that it might have been.

The second is for the Scion tC. This is the commercial with the animation and not the real cars. The tC is drifiting all over the road, rear powersliding through all the turns. Again, the car is not what it is portrayed as being. The tC is a FWD car and it would take a lot of skill with the e-brake to do the drifts that they portray in the commercial.

Anyone notice these little inconsistencies, or am I just crazy?

 

Oh hell yes have I noticed that...It really is stupid how you hear a BOV when a turbo is not featured on that car...really stupid...


Never seen the Scion commercial though, but from what you describe it seems as if the Scion is doing something it cant (without a little professionalism)

Its just car companies trying to sell cars...it looks like they've resorted to showing off features that the cars dont have
