car is being lame

i was driving a 94 camry the other day and the gas and brake pedals seem really hard...as if there was something under them thats not allowing me to push it down all the way. the brake pedal is worst...it feels like when you have taken the keys out of hte car and pumped hte brakes until you cant really pump it anymroe. it does that while im driving. the car still stops but i am fairly worried. another thing, whenever i brake, light or hard, there is this grumbling noise that goes crunk crunk crunk. any ideas?

hmm well your pedal should feel firm after changing the brake fluid. When was the last time you had it done before that?

As for the noise.. maybe your ABS is fawked. I dunno... check the camry forums since i never heard of a pedal being TOO firm.

ok i got curious and looked it up....

. A low brake pedal that is hard or difficult to press usually means that your parking brake or rear brake shoes have developed problems and need to be adjusted. Brakes are essential to your safety. Have them inspected regularly and at the first sign of problems.

Brake Pedal Is Very Hard To Push Down:
The brake pedal requires a lot of force to apply. The pedal is extremely hard and you almost need to use both feet to stop the car. The problem will most likely occur without warning.
Possible causes:

1.

Bad power brake booster: Replace power brake booster.
2.

No vacuum to power brake booster: Inspect and replace vacuum line as required.
3.

Brake line is pinched: Replace brake line.
4.

Kid's toy is stuck under the brake pedal: Remove anything that's under the brake pedal. Insure floor mats are not interfering with pedal movement.
