Exclamation Can someone help a newbie

Hello everyone

I just purchased a 2002 3.5RL with 62K on it..I enjoy the car immensely, its one of the best things I've ever done...I just recently hit 63500 and my mainteanence required light comes on whenever I start the vehicle now...I've looked in my owners manual and it says a oil change should be done at 63750, should I be concerned about this considering the previous owner changed the oil and its not due til 65500...Am I overreacting???Someone please help...Thanks

If the previous owner changed the oil already then I wouldnt worry about it. That light just goes by mileage and doesnt know when the car actually does get an oil change.

Just reset it and keep track of your mileage in your head. Which seems you already have been doing.

My old man has 76k miles on his 02 RL... still drives like a champ. Congrats on the car!

Welcome to the forum !!

I'd probably just wait till the next oil change before resetting it, but that's just me... I like the reminder to get the oil changed every 7500 miles... and even tho' I'm usually anal, I'd deal with seeing the light come on for the next 1750 miles...

Like Jesal said, it's just a mileage counter, so it's nothing to get excited about.

Whew!!!

Thanks, you guys are a godsend!!!Since I'm going to be keeping this car a LONG time, does anyone have any leads on extended warranties for the car???

Does anyone have any experience with upgrading the wheels to 18" or better yet 20"???

I really dont plan on upgrading just trying to gather some info...
