A camaro, really?!
I think giving a guy who makes millions of dollars for PLAYING A GAME and THEN makes more for playing one game than most of us make in 4 years is screwed up.
Like he really needs that car at all. Why doesn't Chevy make a donation in Aaron Rogers name to a charity of his choice....

I thought it was a pretty nice move by GM. Its the newest and hottest car that GM is trying to promote obviously. And it did get incredible amount of attention, right? Thats exactly what GM wanted to get, and they were perfectly successful in pulling that off.
The lack of logic in this thread is astounding.
This happens at every major sporting event. This shouldn't need to be a philosophical debate. It's the newest model, and it's been reviewed to be a damn good one. What, should he have gotten a Volt instead?
And for fuck's sake, learn to spell Camaro people.

They're a billion dollar company and no, that does not mean they know what they are doing in any aspect of business. I'm not saying they are total idiots, I just think they fell short here.
And that was my point, as well. I just think they could have made a better use of that inexpensive, ultra valuable air time. There is a method (which they chose) to market the newest product in the spotlight. It's not a bad method, and it serves a purpose, but I disagreed with it's application in this situation.
Another way to go would have been to provide the MVP with their top-of-the-line vehicle that would have a better chance of being driven for years to come. Sure, it may be out of reach for many Americans, but the idea is that Aaron Rodgers drives a GM. People of GB may see him driving it around and have the same inspiration to get a GM product several of you have already talked about.

About 99.99% of Americans will have no idea what Rodgers does with the car GM gives him, whether it's top of the line or bottom of the line. As far as they're concerned, he keeps any car they give him for the rest of his life... that's not the image GM was trying to portray. American's see GM give Aaron Rodgers a car that appeals to the majority, and better yet it's a car that they can afford. Giving him a $75k CTS-V isn't as pertinent because a) most people don't know why it's such an amazing vehicle and b) most can't afford it if they did know.
I disagree. In the last 1.5 years, GM has dramatically changed the direction they had been going for 30+ years. It is pretty amazing what they have done since the government saved them.
The CTS-V, for example, is an absolutely amazing car with nothing that can even come close to competing with it even relatively close to its price point.
The Camaro this year outside the Ford Mustang for the first time in 24 years.
The list goes on.
...and they are worth a little more than "a million dollar company."

Then don't read it. You know what people care even less about? Your opinion on this thread.
I think they're going for "bread and butter" here. Sure they could of done a top-of-the-line Corvette or a CTS-V BUT how many of those do they really expect to sell?
Instead they showcase a car that they want to sell a LOT of. They've been pushing the Camero hard. All the pre-launch hype, Transformers, etc. It's because they can sell LOADS of them as opposed to a couple hundred or a couple thousand.
No matter how they pitch it, position it and market it, you're not going to see a CTS-V at every stop light. But you will see a Mustang at every stop light. And Chevy wants all those Mustangs to be Cameros.

I really didn't think it was a big deal when they did it. Happens a lot in sports and entertainment. Just like the SB MVP going to DisneyWorld (like Rodgers did a few days ago)...

Some of the comments in this thread are staggering to say the least.Sometimes the most simple, straight forward, transparent concepts blow some people's minds.
