They did not perform the 2nd gear issue because I have not had any trouble, nor did I get anything in the mail.

I do all my own transmission work. I do a 3X3 drain and fill every 30,000 miles on my Accord and my wife's Civic, and have had no slipping or otherwise.

How many miles are on the car? The 4 cylinders (Civic) have never had auto trans issues.

If the Accord trans is the same as the TL, they got the updated case in '04 so the 2nd gear oil jet is not needed.

The failure does not start as a slip exactly. The trans slides into gear, shifts take longer than they should instead of being snappy. This is partially the super friction modified Z1 and later on the solenoids make matters worse.

After the sloppy shifts wear the clutch packs enough, you get shudder and then outright slippage.

It's the unnecessarily super friction modified Z1 that starts the process and the solenoids later on that really speed the failure up.

Many people have no issues with the 5at but I can't imagine running a fluid in which you know you're putting extra wear on the clutches everytime it shifts. Combine these problems with the unrealistic 60-100K first change recommendation of this dino fluid and you have trouble just waiting to happen. The best advice to those who insist on running the Z1, do a single drain and fill with every engine oil change.

75% ain't bad but 90% is 15% better! $300 is probably $150 to much. Don't rush cause you need the car. Request a loner since it's 75-95% their fault you'll be walking.

Good deal no matter but it's still to early for trans problems. Think it's either a 12-12 or 36-36 warranty.
