Yes it is faster, but my pockets arent deep enough. Better appointed could be subjective. R53 is plenty efficient, even though I get free gas. Easier to mod? I dont know of any local shops that mod the R56 yet. I hope its cheap to fix that cold-start issue many of them are having.

It's a nice car, but with the insane amount of mods done to it and the rebuilt title, you know that it has been ripping on various tracks most of its life and likely was crashed during a lap. So buying it is eh...unless you can get a really good deal on it.

Offer the owner a Butterfinger as a straight trade, and if he actually does take it, bend him over and shove it up his ass. There's plenty of Minis out there, and none are worth risking your life for. Tracking your car ages it that MUCH faster than daily driving it. Stuffing it into a ditch badly enough to write it off ... man.
But since you're 20 and you've already made up your mind, go buy the damn thing already and impress your girlfriend with it.

IMO those vent scoops and the body kit, mirror tint, tow hook in the drilled bumper hole and the front lip with that junk holding it up all look like garbage but to each his own. Offer him 16000 and see what you can work out from there
You really wanna buy it, and it ends up being a gem, good for you (good luck with that one)
You buy it and it ends up being a piece of shit, we told you so, but we're not paying for it out of our pockets.
The ONLY way I'd buy that car if I knew to to tear down engines AND was only going to use that car for the track.

okay thanks guys... I have been listening to all of ur replies... they swayed me from the very beginning. I just wanted to ask one last hypothetical question.
I'm not trying to impress anyone... lol we've been together for 3 years, a car aint shit.
I have decided to put a hold on a MINI project for now. RMW (local shop) is doing some sick breakthroughs with the R53 which make me wanna go out and pick one up... But I've been checking things out on the R56 side and I just can't wait to see what RMW does with it. I've seen pictures of a few that were hooked up and with coilovers, less chrome and a nicer grille... they don't look overly bloated. I'm opening a savings account in the coming weeks and I'll be overlooking how things play out. I can't wait till RMW tinkers with R56's...
