Bugatti Veyron hp increase in the works

Bugatti Veyron hp increase in the works
Linky:
http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...THISWEEKSISSUE

With the first Veyron deliveries just getting started, Automotive News reports Bugatti president Thomas Bscher wants to up production to cut the 14- to 15-month waiting time for the car. At the same time plans are afoot to create an even more lim-ited-production Veyron for 2007 featuring an upgraded version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine that will produce 1250 hp, up from 987 hp. Sources say that should raise top speed from 252 mph to 275 mph.

It's about time they bump it up. I mean, nearly 1000hp just wasn't doing it for me. Now I might consider one.

One thing I wonder about (if they actually do this) is high speed stability and the tires. Are they going to get Michelin (I think thats who did the special tires right?) to make another special tire for even more insane speeds, or are the current ones good enough etc?

This is just getting sicker and sicker.

Can't wait to see the first one crashed on PCH by an inexperienced driver.

Yup,

And the seatbelt and airbag to prevent All bodily injury. If the car says it can handle speeds of 250mph+, then it should handle them safely without any responsibility on the driver.

Who want's to buy a car that can't protect them at all times?

a new one over 1000hp? Is it supporting bio-fuel? That will give it a nice boost in HP.

they have always had that wing...hydraulically operated...there are I think two oil coolers for it the wing either engages at something like 130mph or you can override the system via a key in the doorsill for something like a "handling mode" the car is absolutely disgusting

Since Y-rated rubber tops out at a spec-ed 186 MPH, what classifies 250+ MPH? Maybe time to use greek letters?
