With the first Veyron deliveries just getting started, Automotive News reports Bugatti president Thomas Bscher wants to up production to cut the 14- to 15-month waiting time for the car. At the same time plans are afoot to create an even more lim-ited-production Veyron for 2007 featuring an upgraded version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine that will produce 1250 hp, up from 987 hp. Sources say that should raise top speed from 252 mph to 275 mph.

One thing I wonder about (if they actually do this) is high speed stability and the tires. Are they going to get Michelin (I think thats who did the special tires right?) to make another special tire for even more insane speeds, or are the current ones good enough etc?

And the seatbelt and airbag to prevent All bodily injury. If the car says it can handle speeds of 250mph+, then it should handle them safely without any responsibility on the driver.
Who want's to buy a car that can't protect them at all times?
