Just like to drive my car, not ride it . Don't mind family sedans, SUV's and such in auto, just think performance cars should be manual.

One of my coworkers just picked up the BRZ, and he loves it. 370, IMO, is a little too impractical since it doesn't have any back seats. The WRX, well, is a WRX. Living in HI, i would go with RWD and Manual.

"Fun to drive" usually means a good manual shifter and car feel, not just the speed.

Try the manual transmission in the BRZ (as soon as you learn to drive a manual)-- I hear only good things about it.

I would probably prefer an auto in the Z, if my experience with manual transmissions in the Infiniti Gs holds true to the Z.

I thought the BR-Z had a stiff box? Morgan was saying his FRS doesn't always like going into first.

As for the Z, my mom owns a 2003 350Z (first MY). The clutch engagement range (from what I deduced) is very short and is definitely not the easiest manual I have driven.

It's not about body type, top speed, or any of that. From what I understand, it's about the average cost of accidents (largely dominated by medical costs) for the demographic driving the car.

It cost the same for me at 24 to insure a $51k RL as it did my 22 year old wife to insure a $22k Civic. Why? Because the RL has safety ratings out the wazoo.

Given that you can rarely go over about 70 - 75 mph (unless you live near that 85 mph road in Texas), driving is not about speed. It is about acceleration, braking and handling. Any of your 3 choices are cars that would be one of the first to be pulled over so you'll do best to find the one that is fun for YOU to drive within the parameters of the law. Like others have said, go out and test drive them and them make the decision that is right for you. Don't worry what others any think - be confident in your decision.

Since you live in Hawaii, I would go with the BRZ.

Surely by now, ......ya have done your homework researching the car of your dreams. All that's left is the actual hands on test drive and comparing whatever cars personally interest you. Don't make things any more difficult than they need to be. The easy part is up to you, as the hard work paying for the car is done.

Yeah, gotta fully agree. The "Z" is awesome.

If a new one is out of your price range, look for a nice used one. It'll blow the doors off your other choices and most other cars on the road. Get a red or black one and trick it out !!!
