Two choices:

Get the runflats for winter, or get an small compressor, and a dynaplug kit.

http://www.dynaplug.com/

Disclaimer: Dynaplug kit works great for punctures.....NOT for tears.

It all comes down to cost/risk.

BTW.....non-runflat tire ride quality >>>>>>>>>>> run-flat tire ride quality.

This is basically the situation I'm in, but not by choice. My car doesn't even come with a spare; just a small electric pump and some goo from BMW. I bought a plug kit (similar to the one Mooged linked to), as an additional effort on my part. But, when push comes to shove, if the puncture is really bad, I'm stuck.

And non-runflats are probably cheaper too.

Okay...thanks for the input, dude.

Damn thats pretty cool! I never use the fix-a-flat can because then your tire cant really be patched. But this is a way better idea!

I hate runflats more than Moogs hates Acura.

Jesal, why do you hate them so much? Screws up your ride quality?

I hated my run-flats.

Piss poor ride quality compared to non-run-flats.

Cars are hugely different in terms of ride quality when running standard tires over run-flats.

Avoid run-flats if you can...IMHO.

I know MINI comes with them standard, but the cars are so much better without them.

Thanks for the input, dude. I hear all this commentary (not from you guys) about how "MINI's are tuned for runflats and so, are better with them and so, go spend the $$$ to buy runflat winters."

I will reconsider and just use the runflats for the summer and get some regular winters for the car...

^^ They are "apparently" tuned for run-flats.....but they run even better without them.

My cousin ditched the run flats on his Cooper S. He thought they were too hard/ stiff and therefore affected its handling. I think he switched to Continental DWS.

No runflats on my Coop, just a measly pump. I really should get some sort of patch kit before I get a flat

Sorry for being lazy...but, it's just a stock All4 Countryman. It's true!

And well, there's snow outside. Not exactly prime photography weather.

I do have to say though: the wife absolutely loves it. Stiff ride overall but quite fun. Nice change of pace, I suppose, from the FX.

The interior is quirky. And I dunno if I'll ever get used to the Navigation (iDrive-ish) system.

Looking good! Surprising how close in size it is to the FX.

Yeah, it is surprisingly roomy. And it actually matches the FX in looks...one is just meaner-looking than the other, I suppose.

I suppose one day I'll use a better camera instead of the one on my phone...

And not in my garage with pools of melted snow on the concrete...
