Easy, the fluid will last longer than a BMW transmission!

Apparently it's 100k mile fluid, enough for BMW to kick you out the door while you're in warranty.

Here's a thread started by a member here... https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/picture-my-stock-335i-automatic-transmisson-fluid-51k-miles-749784/

If you can swing it, change the fluid every 40-50k miles (or sooner depending on your driving habits). I do mine every 30k but that's because it's cheap and easy on my Honda.

I'd rather replace the fluid 2-3 times within those 100k miles than have to pay to replace a transmission out of warranty.

BMW recently changed the interval to 100k for many models, even older ones, so owner beware.

Lifetime by BMW std means to me 120K miles / 8 years. Anyway I plan to get rid of it after 7 years.

It is hard to believe, because one reason to have regular automatic transmission oil change is because there is always a part left in the system. So doing it often helps. But I wouldn't say that it is cheap.

$16.07 for each liter (bought 7 liters for a total $112.49) chances are you probably only need 5 liters - I bought 2 extra liters just in case, and to get the free delivery discount.

You have to understand that most of the vehicles sold by these companies are aimed towards the layperson. Someone with little to none automotive know how, and they'll attempt to do anything to get them to purchase the cars.

Even if it means spreading myths about lifetime ATF. I will guarantee you that in a few years the 10K oil change interval will become 25K and then before we know it lifetime.
