BMW M Coupe: Like it or Hate it?

Personally, I've always loved this car. It's everything I'd ever want in a car but unfortunately I don't fit in it.

Basically it's an M3 stuffed in a smaller and lighter body. The engine is the same however it's down 18hp due to the more restrictive headers required to shoehorn it into the engine bay.

I know the styling isn't for everyone, but in general what do you think of this car?

Isn't this just the bugly M3 Coupe that failed miserably a few years back?

Well it's been discontinued but BMW knew it was a niche vehicle when they released it. They weren't expecting to sell millions of them.

They're very hard to find but the 315hp versions are going for mid $40's CDN.

It is a fast car. But it's really small. A friend had the older less HP one in a vert. That was nice too.

Not a fan of the car's looks, but i bet it is a blast to drive. Always loved the size of the deep dish on the rear wheels of that car.

It certainly isn't the most attractive of cars, but it definitely is the perfect formula for a performance car.

small, rigid, lightweight frame + big power motor =

Of course, I also have a soft spot for hatchbacks. I don't particularly like or dislike this design, but I will say it's not exactly the most elegant.

I like them. They're also a best around the track. That chassis is stiffer than Jacko at a preschool.

Great powertrain but the ugly step child look to it makes it a COMPLETE turnoff.

I had a 00 Mcoupe (as many know)......great car, except for the big fucking waste of $ Dinan mods.

Didn't keep it that long though, loved the car but I felt weird after awhile driving it....don't ask.

Talk about attention as well, at the time that thing stopped people in their tracks.

How would you compare the handling to your M3? Always been curious if they're close at all.

Tough. I'm asking anyway. Why did it feel weird to drive after a while?

I've always loved these cars! They are very rare and turn heads like crazy! Now that I look at the pictures again they kind of resemble an X5 but with two doors and smaller.

The Mcoupe was like a gocart, not to mention I had Dinan lowering springs in it.

Overall, the Mcoupe was a better handling car imo.....but the M3 is definitely no slouch either in that dept. With a good coilover kit, the M3 is in 911 territory.

I just felt weird driving it......I'm not a hatchback driver (soon realized afterwards).

Believe it or not, most people that saw the car loved it......very few didn't.
