BMW 3seris

hey guys, today when I was driving home from school, my freind called me on my cell. He told me he got a BMW i was like yea yea, becasue they test drive cars all the time. I get home and "check in" with my mom and tehn walk down the street (he lives 3houses away). I walk into his garage and i saw it. i was like and i sat in it, it was so comfy. Every thing on that car is great except for the power. I drove that thing around the block handels just like a TL, its near PERFECT. The sound system is good.
So is the different drivng positions.

He wants to mod it. I think the exhaust sounds so hot along with the engine. It could use an intake, and a bigger set of BMW rims. Thats all.

I get so jealous, i dont know what to do. I liked the TL alot but my moms been driving it too much lately.

I know everyone says the TL is a better car than the 3, but I like it, I used to think these cars where shit. I want one

What do you guys think is better?? The 03 BMW 3seris, 99-01TL, or the MB C-class

Just want some opinions.

Beamers are nice as hell, but to rich for my blood.... I do not think they are worth the money.... but they do have some nice power, especially high end torque...I love it that the car has get up through all the gears....

Wait till you see his maintenance bills, then come back asking what car you should get.
And for god sakes, stay away from C-Classes unless your over 40 years old.

"it handles just like a tl"??? are you crazy?

i'm not a huge fan of the 3 series, but the handling will beat a tl anyday. real wheel drive is a beautiful thing, especially if you're living in florida. here in the jersey winters, i'll keep my TL though.

im curious which one it was
325 = nice ride, zero power (plus i'm 6'4" and cant fit in it)
330 = great car, too pricy for what you're getting though

In England where every road is twisty, the 3 Series would be perfect. Her ein NA, where most roads are striaght. TheTL is perfect. BMW never made a TL version of a 3 Series. The 3 Seires is the same as the one you buy in UK.

Yeah you are a friggin hypocrite.

C-class is an overpriced piece of crap... and which C are you talking about anyway? They have a bunch of diff trims incl. a coupe.

I have no idea how you can compare the handling of a 3-series to a TL. I'm guessing it must've been a 325, cuz a 330 is just as powerful as a TL, if not more powerful.

It's really a matter of value. The TL is undoubtedly a better value than the 3 series.. but is it a better car? I was w/o my car for the last few weeks, so I borrowed my friend's '02 Dinan 330i quite often. It's a huge diff driving his car then driving mine. If price were not an issue, I'd take a fully loaded 330 over a TL any day.

BMW's have free maintenance..."Just about anything your BMW might need replaced or serviced—brake pads, wiper blades, oil change, checkup—is fully covered for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first."

The 330ci is a very nice car, but for the same price, you could do amazing things to a TL-S aftermarket wise.

I drove it again, i know its over priced, and some how i like it.....

He has the Inline 6, which seems meaner than the TL's V6.

What is the cheapest I can get a Type-S for??

both the 325 and the 330 have inline six motors....You might want to research your cars a little more than what you know to impress us old people..

My friend just leased a navy blue 325i; he actually paid about $275 per month out the door. We took the car out to Jersey the other night with maybe 100 miles on his odometer, and I honestly believe that my TL-S is just a nicer car overall. The exterior is attractive (if not overdone, considering it's been around for 7 years) and the ride is great, but that interior is just subpar for a $30k automobile. First of all, I hate that whole radio/HVAC setup; it just seems really cheap, especially that radio, which is just one thin strip showing your controls. It is also very crammed inside, which plagues all entry-level German sedans. There are a lot of things I love about the 3-series BMW, it has been one of Car and Driver's 10 Best for 11 years for a reason. However, when it comes down to it, I'd rather have the comfort, amenities, and power of my TL-S.

we are taking pics later today.

After driving it a little more, i am starting to find the TL to be a bettter car.

At night the "red/organe" look pisses me off, it hurts my eyes.

Sat in my friend's Z3, then sat back into my V6 Accord (fully loaded). I liked my car better actually. In general, BMW cockpits look exactly like an airplane cockpit with all the controls all over the place. Like IndoMFP said, too rich for my blood. I like functionality in cars but I don't want to sit there trying to decipher every function in a car.

Ianbiz3...
arent u the kid that said the 3 series are slow and not worth the money?
Didnt u say this quote- "its a Bimmer i want one, but not the shitty 3seris."man, I dont know you, but you're a little punk, not to mention a tool. you're prolly some 15 year old dummy that goes running around tryinn to make everyone like you. Oh, and hes something else you said-

"They are way over priced, IE: you can buy an Acura TL, with more power, better handeling, and more goodies for 10grand less. When you buy a 3seris or C-Class, you are many paying for the name(nothing too wrong with that). I have driven a 330ci, and it seems nice until you drive it, its kinda slow, navi sucks, and handeling takes a while to get used to.

I personally think, that the 3 doesn't deserve the BMW badge it wears. Now the 3seris coupe (330cia i think it is) and the M3 are a different story.

My dadwanted me to get a 3 for my first car, i told him HELL NO, he would be wasteing his money, he seriously thought, the 3 was a much better car than the TL. He still wants a 3 for himself

The 5, 6, 7 all have the power, performance, and lux. that you would expect when you buy a $50k - $80k car."

and so now your jealous? man, get a clue. and do your homework before you rag on something you have no clue about.
-ALex

and the 525 has the same power as the 325, and 530 with 330...

dont believe me, you can see all his posts here: http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96590

oh, and those red lights are there to keep the driver awake and alert at night. If u do some research, ull see that blue and green actually make the driver sleepy, where as red/orange actually improves a drivers concentration.

Look at these neg rep pts. he left for me:

"tryed" , "makle"... perfect example of an A+ student right here.

Btw, his "point" was a post reading, "I WANT A TL OR 325".
