blocks with numbers to mark cars?

I wanted to find out what the correct name is for the blocks with numbers that used to mark cars at repair shops. This is the block they put on the roof of the car. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Most places use plastic "car hats" which are magnetic on the bottom.

I assume they don't work well on 'Vettes or cars with aluminum roof panels.

Thanks. Are they worth much? The body shop left 2 of them in my car. I called and told them about it but haven't received a call back.

The retail price on the net seems to be about $10 each.

I do but it's not convenient for me to go there.

I was trying to find out the correct name for these things which I encountered at body shop and which they accidentally left in the back of my car.
