I'm toying with the idea of switching to black rims for my 911. I'm looking at these 4. The BBS and O.Z. should fit fine although the offset on the O.Z. rears is more than my current Classics. The HREs are on clearance so their pricepoint is comparable to the BBS. However, they are 20"s which will require new rubber and are for the widebody 911s. From the photos I've seen they sit pretty flush with my narrowbody C2S.
Price range is from 1800 to 3000 for set of 4 sans rubber. I have 11K on my Michelin PS2s and tire tread is good.
Stock with 19s Classics

I don't have the pics of the HREs in black so use your imagination
HRE543R 20s

HRE547R 20s

Thoughts?

True.
LOL
True x 2
Scott, you don't think black rims would be a nice compliment to the metallic grey? I know a lot of white cars rock black rims because of the contrast. You raise a good point since metallic grey is more of a neutral color.

Thanks. I thought I was the only one.
On that note I don't think they are. I just think that more "normal" cars and SUVs are adopting this style so it's just less unique than before. However, if you have a set of boutique wheels (like the HREs) I think you can pull it off in style. BTW, I think the black wheels will bring out the red calipers more.
I voted for the 543s

I would get the 547R's in silver
If they must be black, BBS

In order of preference:
1) Stock
2) HRE547R -- in satin finish as pictured, NOT black
3) BBS, also in satin silver
I think black wheels just look weird on dark-colored cars.

I like black wheels only on light colored cars. I tend to get 50/50 response on the black HRE's on my M3. Generally the people that like the black wheels are "car guys". Other people say it looks a little to kiddish for a BMW. I'd get some brushed wheels for a dark gray car like yours.
Once again the collective masses of AZ have voiced the opinion of reason.
1 more year on the 911's 4 year warranty then it's on to shopping for a low mileage F430. I expect the advent of the F458 to drive down the pricing on F430s next year. My next poll will hopefully be what color F430 to get. I get the feeling it will be a toss up between black and red

F430 = "drool"
I vote for red and red only!
Get the F430. The more people like you that increase the population of Porsches on the used car market means that one day I may be able to own one for a much cheaper price.
In all seriousness though, i'd keep the wheels stock. I would go for a black wheel on your car, but both of those, IMO, wouldn't look good on your car.
But then there's this wheeel that would look friggin sick on your car...

This is a no brainer. Save up for an F430. If you do want wheels, check the used section on 6speed online, pelican, etc. HRE= one of the biggest ripoffs as far as buying new wheels go.
That's only because the pics you posted are black wheels WITH polished lip. The lip gives it a contrast.
IMHO: black wheel/polished lip: For the most part played out. Especially if the spokes are a glossy black.
"Time Attack" style wheels: GTFO.

I agree. HRE, Advant, etc. definitely ballin.
True. I was thinking if I moved to the 991 I could swap out the rims and move them to new ride. I only mentioned F430 kinda tongue in cheek. If I get serious about buying one 3k won't be a big difference LOL. Although I did hear about a scuderia with only 4k miles that was reasonably priced.
I am sure 3k won't be a issue for you, mr. baller.
Scuderia? soon as you pick up scuderia, I'm going to come visit you... I don't care where ever you at.

im sure he means its better to put the 3 grand towards whatever he already has saved up.
