If I ever met you the first thing I would do is kick you in the nuts and hope you could never reproduce. The second thing I would do is slap your parents cause they are obviously terrible at this parenting thing. The third thing I would do is try and petition for you to get thrown in jail because going 45 mph over the speed limit is fucking inexcusable and needs to be punished. I was 19 not too long ago, and I would NEVER do anything like that cause I know my dad would beat my ass if I did.

K, I feel super retarded for posting 3 posts in a row, but i just finished reading this thread and wanted to comment on the whole spoiled children thing.

My parents bought me my car, but i do not reply on them for everything. I got the car with the understanding that i would be responsible for insurance, maint, etc, and also that i would stay in school and maintain high grades. Right after I got the car i went and got my first job and was able to keep it and pay for my insurance everymonth. but now that i have started college I have a complicated schedule that makes it hard for me to work because I dont have a lot of availability.
But basically not everyone that has their shit handed to them turns out to be a complete douche. I take care of this car becuase I do know how hard my dad worked to get it for me, and becuase I dont treat my stuff like theyre disposable. I definately do know the kind of kids that you guys are talking about that grew up with money and just expect it instead of trying to work for things.

Ps- Please dont flame me haha

OP the fine wont be that expensive your only going what 12 miles over the speed limit. My cousin got a ticket for going 15 over and it was 299. But right now shit 50 dollars is expensive. But let us know what happens. and you can always make payments on the ticket too

keep the 100+ miles for the track not on the streets. I dont even care if the freeway was empty. where I live that would get automatic jail time and your car would be impounded.

There's nothing wrong with driving over 100 on a desolate highway in the middle of North Dakota. There are no victims. There is something wrong with treating a cop or a judge like they're chumps for being decent enough to cut a teenager some slack. Such poor quality of character. It's astonishing.

Got a ticket for going 42 in a 30? Once I drove past a cop, going 45 in a 30, and he didn't pull me over. All cops are different, I guess. Maybe mine was sleeping while on lookout.

Anyways, I'd only contest it depending on the circumstances or if he was just looking for someone to pull over. Or if the cop was being a douchebag. I got pulled over by a cop only once, he was apparently following me for a half a mile, but I couldn't see him in my rear view mirror since he turned his headlights off... obviously so I wouldn't see him. If I got a ticket from him you bet your ass I'd contest it

Well I'm not really sure exactly how long he had been following me. I remember him telling me "I'd been following you for a bit, there...." but I never saw any headlights in my rearview mirror.

Don't break the law. Speed limits are there for a bloody reason...why is there a discussion or debate?

Pay up. Period.
