Beat the police laser....again.

Valentine One comes thru again....I should have known the police would be out for the holidays. So I didn't exactly beat the laser itself, it was the cop. As I crested a long hill, I could see the motorcycle cop parked perpendicular to the road well ahead. I was definitely speeding so I slowed in the right lane, the car in the left lane overtook and was slightly ahead of me but not speeding much either. This cop must have been waiting for something because we had to be maybe 200 yards or less before he first zapped her...then me. It was too late to catch us, he actually put his laser gun down, never mind the cars behind us. Yes the cops are inept but first I learned once again that you can definitely get a full laser alert even if you are NOT the primary target and second each clocking event only lasts about two short seconds. It doesn't take long to get your speed on laser, but knock on wood I have never rec'd a laser ticket thru at least a dozen incidents now. Good job V1.

P.S. Stay safe during the holidays.

Some of the laser jammers work quite well depending on circumstance...

Systems such as Escort's ZR3 Laser Shifter, Bel's 904 Laser Jammer, etc. apparently do work, but are expensive. However, beware of claims made by Rocky Mountain Radar for their "passive" jamming system. Tests by others have concluded that it is completely worthless as a jammer.

Owgh......

ANTI-RADAR RADAR ABSORBING MODULAR ANTENNA ($59.95). Ads from the maker, MicroGuard, recommend using a minimum of two antennas, so we ordered a pair, sending a cashier's check for the promised second-day delivery. Five weeks and one angry phone call later, two mailing tubes arrived. We found the antenna to consist of a 28-inch-long, one-and-three-quarter-inch-diameter plastic tube. There was no operator manual, only a sticker explaining: "The ARA-2 module is a nonpowered, nontransmitting, self excited [sic] unit. No power is necessary to operate."

Large decals warn "Warranty void if seals are broken," but we couldn't resist looking inside. What we found was a 120-volt, 50-watt fluorescent light bulb with red electrical wire attached to one of its contact prongs and then wrapped tightly around the bulb, covering it down to the opposite end. That's it.

They left out the Blinder Laser Jammers.

http://www.blinder.dk/uk/m2o.htm

They have new models, but one of the older one sure worked well for a fellow member. He had a V1 and got tagged a few times by LIDAR before having them installed.

They are black and can be well-hidden up front in the CLS.

Who really needs a V1. I just know I WANT it and it's paid for itself -- especially in areas where they were doing revenue-collection-enforcement operations.

Fortunately, at least of late, I've managed to get early indications as the local PD have turned the units on and they must have been swinging the beam around without regard to detection. I managed to get a series of "potiential falses" that got my attention and saved me from a local area where they are handing out tickets for doing 3MPH over the speed limit. The couple of the cars passing me were pulled over a couple of blocks ahead.

Thank you V1...
