bad dealership experience?

What kind of idiot installs a spoiler backwards??

Poor RSX guy.

This guy evidently got a hurtin put on him for getting his spoiler (allegedly) installed at Thomas Acura in Covina, CA...

Whether or not this was done at Thomas Acura, there's a reason why I never went to Thomas Acura for service even though it's the closest dealership to my home.

I'm going to go with, they put it on backwards to see what it would look like and took pictures. I doubt it's even mounted that way...

I'm not going to read through the clubrsx thread, but why would he take the car home after that job? Why wouldn't the tech's supervisor (or anyone on the lot for that matter) not notice?

Shit happens...but you'd expect an apology, a loaner, and '"your car will be ready tomorrow. Job will be performed correctly. Can we give you a gratis oil/lube & tire rotation?"

I declare shenanigans.

LOL! That was the same dealership my car was bought new from. I'm not the original owner.

I'd be demanding free oil changes for life or something along those lines!

Based off how its hanging off the back it looks like all the mounting holes were put in the correct place and the owner either flipped it around for god knows why or it was a pic taken by the techs for fun. Nobody who knows how to bolt something together could fuck up that royally.

Holy smokes!! At least that dumb-@$$ installer got it the correct vicinity (the hatch), and didn't bolt it on the roof or hood of the car! Someone didn't read the instruction book... that's because that monkey probably didn't know how to!!

uhm dealer isn't too happy about that

Guys, I personally know the owners of this Acura dealership. Knowing how they are as people, there is no possible way anything like this would come out of their dealership. I showed them the post and was asked to post this message on their behalf. Here is his message:

My name is Ian Thomas, the General Manager and Co-Owner of Thomas Acura in Covina CA. I have recently been made aware that fraudulent and libel posting has been made against my business by ‘Goldenmeeko’ for an act we did not perform. I respectfully ask that the administrator of the message board contact me to discuss this fraudulent and libel posting. This posting can have serious negative consequences to my business and is a violation of California’s fair business and practices statutes.

GOLDENMEEKO wrote on 10-11-2006 @ 2.06am:

well I dropped off my car at the dealer today at around 11am and then i went to school and then later when i went to pick up my car around 8-830 when they were about to close....i find out they put my wing on wrong!!!!!!!! they told me that some new worker put it on and he didnt know shit!!! fuk im so pissed driving around with that so embarassing well they told me to go back tomarrow to fix it.

Dear Goldenmeeko,

It’s time to come clean and be honest with yourself and the members of Club RSX, you and I both know that Thomas Acura did not install that spoiler. You (or someone you know) failed to read the instructions and reversed the template on your hatchback, and you decided to blame an innocent third party – Thomas Acura. Shame on you. By your posting, you have opened yourself up to legal consequences that you will be unable to respond to if I ever get my wish to see you stand before a judge. You may ask how can I make such bold accusations? You know why -but for the benefit of the other Club RSX members here are the facts:

My Service Manager and I pulled every repair order from October 1 through October 12, 2006. We have not installed a ITR or similar spoiler on ANY RSX this month.
We do not stock ITR or similar ‘high profile’ spoilers in our Parts Department. The last one we ordered and installed was June of this year and the color was silver – not black.
I personally met with every Service Advisor and Technician that we have employed (all three teams are here today.) They all had a laugh at the reversal of the spoiler –but the laughs should be directed at the incomptant who installed the spoiler – none of whom work here, which you claim performed the installation.
My Service Manager and Fixed Operations Director were both at Thomas Acura Wednesday night, October 11th until 9.20pm as they were presenting for a New Owner Clinic. So you just ‘picked up’ your car with a reversed spoiler and didn’t want to complain THAT NIGHT of the obvious mistake?... Give me a break –we had NO customer pick-up any vehicle from Thomas Acura’s Service Department after 6.23pm.

Now you may have posted this as a joke, or perhaps you have an axe to grind with Thomas Acura. I encourage you to do what I suggested in the first sentence; come clean and be honest with yourself and the members of Club RSX. A simple reply to this email with an apology for your act, so the other members can read will suffice. If you decide not to retract your fraudlent and libel statements, we may meet one day –at the West Covina Courthouse.

-Ian L. Thomas

That kid probably put it on himself and realized afterwards (when his friends laughed at him) that he put it on backwards, and instead of tellin his friends that he did it, he'd rather get sued? Kids these days...

Seems like the kid just has unclear beef with Thomas. Maybe a cute receptionist turned him down or something

If this was a real car I would surely expect even the worst dealership to provide a loaner+apology+a free service.

Hey YeuEmMaiMai, i think that you should have showed the owner the post on CLub RSX not over here. It's reasons like this why Toyota is fighting to close down forums.

I think that the dealership manager Ian Thomas, had already contacted ClubRSX directly.

Stupid punk on ClubRSX - useless etrolls. Thankgod AZ doesn't have an RSX forum.

And this is why the Integra/RSX should have stayed as a Honda and never been an Acura

I don't get what that has to do with this?

I'm sure there are people on this board that have done stupid things with their non integra/rsx acura vehicle and try to pass it off as someone elses fault.

while i agree with that, i can assure you the the % of stupid shit done by rsx/integra owners is way higher than the % of stupid shit done by other acura owners.

If I remember correctly, Ken once said that the Integra should have been a Honda and the Prelude should have been an Acura. I'd have to agree
