Back seats need = s2k --> 2.0 R-spec

what can i say, i needed back seats.

aftera almost 2yrs, i traded in my 2004 s2k for a Hyundai Genesis 2.0 R-spec.

i really dont miss the S but, i did like it.

my first ever new car isnt the "best" at anything but its "good" at everything. i got 2.5k over KBB for my s2000 and the GenCoupe for 2k under MSRP. Now, im gonna resist from getting a piggy back for as long as i can due to warranty.

but knowing that $450 can give me 276wtq at 3,000RPM is VERY tempting

so far i havent pushed it to its limits due to the 600 mille brake in period Hyundai suggest. It handles nicely and is very smooth. NOT as fast as the s2k stock but after $450 it sure will be.

Aww, that's unfortunate that you needed to ditch the S2000.

Good luck Gen Coupe, you didn't even tell us the color btw.

isn't r-spec some sporty package including 19" wheel and brembo?

edit: "The Genesis Coupe R-Spec that is priced at $23,750 or $3,000 less than the 2.0T Track model, adds a series of performance orientated goodies such as track-tuned suspension, 19-inch gunmetal-finish alloy wheels with performance summer tires, Brembo braking system, Torsen limited-slip differential, and R-Spec badging."

oooh that one.

didn't they take some features out of it to save some weight or something? when i first read about it, i thought it was pretty funny. i don't remember what they took away though.

anyway, it should become a pretty fun car once OP starts to mod it. good luck and keep us posted.

in for pics.

Isn't the engine very very similar to the Evo's? My psychic abilities see a huge modding community growing for this car

Congrats! I bet it was hard to ditch the S2K. They are a classic design.

Good luck with the GenC. I think the back is particularly sexy.

Judging by this post, have you kept up with how the V6 & I4 are doing in the aftermarket community?
I stopped paying attention right as the V6 began to develop some serious numbers through 1 tuner & when the I4 was responding nicely to basic mods.

I ask because I'm very interested in the Genesis & my next car has to have a numerous amount of mods that can push it past 400whp, so it's between this & the Mustang V6/GT right now.

somewhat, i found this. JUST A TUNE and the numbers seriously increease. LOOK AT POST 137!

http://www.gencoupe.com/2-0t/24833-w...weraxel-7.html

thats what i call easy power. you can have the I4 just as fast as the V6 in no time

I read on some forums that for some high numbers you need a turbo upgrade. That stock turbo doesn't have that much potential. correct me if I am wrong, I read that a while ago.

yes and no. depending on what you think is hight numbers. for me. 300rwhp. Now, the turbo is very small and lots of owners are upgrading to the EVO X turbo. What the issue with this car and why it doenst make 300rwhp on stock evething is because the injectors are small. 330cc i believe. and the exhaust has a "pinch" in the middle and restricts flow. so, with exhaust, injectors and a flash i believe this car can easily do 250rwhp/300rwt.

this so far from what ive read and dynos ive seen

How do you like the Gen-coupe so far dude? I'm 99% sure that I'll be getting another car in 2-3 years, unless I Supercharge the TL. I was looking at Z's and S2000's but after seeing what a simple tune can do to the Gen-coupe 2.0t, I've decided to put these in the running as well. Plus, the gen-coupe has backseats. lol.

i finally got some pics. hahaa. with my blackberry n i suck at taking pics also. here ya go.

first mod will be the OEM, fog lights, who cares about that much weight to not offer it on this trim anyway. i already looked up the DIY.

the back is huge!

wheels look small cause i suck at pictures but, theyre 19's. Rotors are 13.4 inch and has 4 Piston Monoblock Brembos. just need a drop

ill get some engine shots later. it has so much room and the turbo is very accesible. looks nice.
