That "eat before you talk" isn't really an insult, it's an acurazine joke (long story short, this idiot [inyong1988] acted like he was mature, when in fact all he was (and still is) a liar (a terrible one at that, a quick google search revealed what a dumbass he was). And when he was caught, all he could think of for insults was age (said 18 was immature, when he said he was 24, but actually more like 19...lol) and telling somebody on the forum that "he should eat before he talk".

haha! i thought they had this thread deleted!
anyway, im really not the type of person that insults others but, to all those who posted negative comments towards me or my "new to me car"... ... ...
lick my sweaty nut sack!!!
anyway, as i said. i thought this thread was gone. so heres the update.
i was able to locate the previous owner on s2ki (very nice guy, traded this car in for an evo x i think).
he sold the soft top to help purchase a hard to (its an OEM hardtop)
he also did a soft top button CR DELETE. (no sure what that was, he said he bought a CR center console from honda n installed it)
also said that the switch was removed along with the softtop. he left all the wiring in the car, and i will be meeting him tomorrow to get the switch from him. (free, along with a tie bar)
so all i have to do is...buy a soft top, and im good to go!!!! (except i wont be buying a soft top just yet. ILL BE GETTING SOME RPF1's in black, 17x9. TAX REFUND BABY!!!)
OVER ALL, THE CAR RUNS GREAT, AND IS IN IMMACULATE CONDITION!

First of all, no one really insulted you. It definitely is mind boggling as to why you didn't check the softtop operation if you cared about it. Good luck with buying a soft top, those things are expensive.

i did, i did. i just thought it wouldnt be a problen to just buy a soft top.
i didnt pay attention to the toggle switch wince i couldnt use it with the hardtop there, 2 days later i noticed it...hahah.
its kool tho... all the wiring is still in the car. switch cost like 10 bucks. i just need to buy a soft to and im set (soft tops are like $800 tho) and i really enjoy the look of the hard top!

The "free" switch is the least of the OP's concern, a soft top is probably in the 5k neighborhood installed, actually it is probably more because you'll need motors and the frame. S2000 seats are around $4-5K each, so piecing an entire top together may cost more then the car itself!
Seat theft, which usually includes a slashed/sliced soft-top will total most S2000's, the cost to repair becomes more then the cars value. In this situation, the frame and motors are still intact, just to give you an idea of how expensive this will probably be. Whoever said a factory soft-top, with glass and frame is $800 is smoking something.
Keep in mind installing a soft-top on this car is extremely difficult and requires a bit of experiences or it won't come out right. There are ways to save money, seeing as you already have a the CR center console(just like I figured) you may want to leave your top strictly manual, which would mean no motors being purchased either, it would also render the "free" switch useless because you will also need a standard center console, which is probably a few hundred dollars from the stealership. In short this is a pickle, as much as I love driving my S2k top down, I think I would retain the hard top and enjoy a unique, fun to drive 2 seater coupe!
