are Audi TT's fast?
Is the 225 hp TT faster than us or is it more for just cruisin. And since they are Turbo, there are chips out for them as well right?

We were looking for one for my wife, they are pretty nice and fast (didn't test 0-60) but the windows are kind of small and being a safety freak I got my wife A6 quatro

But more importantly, it will beat the IS300 (which beats the 330i/330Ci, which in turn beats the CL-S/TL-S) in canyon running, autocross, and road race situations.
For Solo (road race) and Solo 2 (autocross) events, the SCCA classifies the stock 225hp Audi TT Quattro as being competitive with the:
-> BMW M3 (e36)
-> Porsche 911 (993)
-> Porsche Boxster
-> Honda S2000
-> Mazda RX-7 Turbo (FC3S)
-> Toyota MR2 Turbo (MkII)
-> Nissan 300ZX Turbo (Z32)
-> Pontiac Firebird (WS6)
In other words, definitely not "for just cruisin."
But one thing that has to be noted if this is for your wife (and I know I'm being sexist by assuming that she is any less of a driver than you are) is that the Audi TT's have aerodynamic instability issues at high speeds. It was much-publicised for awhile, and I don't know whether it was resolved, assuming that it was seen as a problem as opposed to just simply a lot of agility that has to be contained by a competent driver.
Better check an Audi board for a full opinion.

cmmenting on that
The problems have been resolved.my friend just got a TT. They added a spoiler in the back to fix the problem. At high speeds the car was losing control but with the spoiler there havent been any problems

My friend has a new 2002 225, and with an intake and tires it is a very tight race but we pull away slowly. Usually 2nd and 3rd gear we get our lead. Trust me we have tried over 30+ times, but that quattro gives more consistency.
Maybe we'll make some videos soon

Wasn't there the same problem with the new beetle too. I think it was speeds over 100 the rear end became highly unstable, so they added a spoiler to that too.
The cockpit of the TT's look tiny, does a tall person 6'3" have a chance of fitting in those things as a passenger or driver. I fit perfect in the CL and even a Civic Hb but I couldn't even fit as a passenger in a S2000, and I sure as hell couldn't have driven it.

This may sound petty but it is worth considering if the TT is going to be a daily driver.
All of the radio and air conditioning controls are very non-intuitive.
I test-drove the coupe and the two impressions I came away with were: gigantic blind spots and bad gizmo controls.
On the other hand, I think it is an absolutely beautiful exterior design, and it handled really wonderfully.

Yup I rode in one at couple of times and the driver constantly was leaning forward to see traffic lights because of the tiny front window and low roof. Also the rear window was difficult to see out of when reversing and the pillars are pretty thick, hence the many blind spots...beautiful car, but not 100% well thought out ergonomically.

hahahahahaha
man PLEASE do not compare Japanese or European cars with a POS american vehicle (Pontiac WS6) !!! hahahahaha
Pontiac, Chevy, and Ford are what you pay for raw power inside a POS product.

If you're talking strictly peformance though...I don't doubt that F-bodies can be great all around performers. I just wouldn't buy one because of my past experiences. I buy only foreign makes now, but still try to buy the ones manufactured in the US (like the CL). Acura customer service has been excellent BTW.
