im anxious to see how the interior looks, what kind of navi, gauges, seats, etc. should be interesting.
Cost Drivers!!!!
You won't see interior shots for a little bit. I would suspect not until a month or two before the release. If take the TSX as an example, the interior was changed between the car shows and production release.

really?? i figured that at the show, theyd have it up on some rotating platform with the typical autoshow woman with a mic explaining the features and showing the engine, opening the doors, etc. thats how all the other concepts usually are.Originally posted by Zapata

yeo...but this consept is a ver close rendering of the production...and lets face it...i have a hard time believing that if this is just a 270 hp 3.5L i-vtec than why so secretive? the video gives some away..."he thinks i-VTEC is traded on the nasdaq." "...she thinks a clutch is a hand bag..."

From www.edmunds.com's TL concept "review" :

Why Should You Care?
The Concept TL we saw today only provided a look at the exterior design and did not include any interior design nor mechanical specifications. So, it's hard to get excited about a car that may never be produced.

I was at the Detroit show and Acura did not have a spokesperson for the TSX or any concept. In fact, the Acura booth was almost as forgettable as the Isuzu and Kia booths. Sad.Originally posted by jimcol711

For some reason, I get the feeling Acura is going to pull a rabbit out of it's hat here...they're just being too secretive. I wouldn't be suprised to see the production version released with VTM-4 or IMA. I know, I know...we aren't going to see IMA for another year or two (on the RL and/or TSX). But wouldn't it make a little sense? Acura being all hush hush then BLAM! here's the first production IMA car...it would leave Lexus scrambling to produce their version (in the RX330).Well, I can dream, can't I?

IMA is Integrated Motor Assist. It's the wave of the future (imo). You have a modest sized engine powering the front wheels (say the 3.2 or 3.5 liter.) And two 100hp electric motors powering the rear wheels. This form of hybrid offers exotic car performance, AWD, and hybrid mileage. The technology was unveiled a couple years ago with the Dual Note concept car. There are rumors that we'll see it first with the next generation RL and TSX (as an M3 fighter http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...&highlight=IMA )
But for some reason, I just have this feeling we'll see it earlier...possibly in the TL...just to catch the competition off guard. Why else would Acura be so secretive about the engine of the TL? I don't think they would be so tightlipped if it were just a powermatch with Infiniti (G35). But that's just my opinion.

Not a problem. vtm-4 is Acura's All-Wheel-Drive system used in the MDX. It's a great light-weight system that I think would go well in the sedans. I kinda doubt Acura would take that step but it's worth dreaming about.Originally posted by AcuraFan
