Anyone with (or has experience with) a J32 Civic or Integra?
What are your thoughts about J32 swaps into Civics and Integras? I know there are several threads about them on this board but I wondered whether anyone here actually owns or driven one.
For the record, I have a J32 Integra. It is an everyday car. Just wondering if there any other crazy people like me.

...Very observant that you noticed.
Thanks for the comments everyone.
Ok, here is my question. So, it uses a TL power steering pump with Integra rack so it has power steering. However, it whines. Anyone ever resolve that whine?
It has the TL air conditioner, power steering, ABS, TL dual exhaust...actually looks very ordinary.

Start the car, turn the wheel all the way until it stops, then turn the car off like that and leave it for 20 minutes or so.
Re-start the car and turn the wheel all the way to the other side, shut the car off, wait 20 minutes.
Do that a few times and it may solve the problem.

There is probably air in the system.

Video Video Video!!!!!!!!
Video just 4 you all... Click on link for 0-60 video.
It was wet and slippery so the launch is bad. (And I rarely take my cars over 2500 rpm hence my bad technique... )
Can someone help me embed the video? I can't get it to work.
And, thanks to everyone who gave me advice on the power steering whine/groan. I will try them all and let you know how it works.

I've never come across J-series powered Civic or Integra. On a similar note, my son had a B15 Sentra SE-R (Spec V) with a VQ35DE swap. Incredible acceleration but the chassis suffered horribly.

did you have to mount the engine lower in order to have the hood close properly? does that reduce the clearance on the bottom? all the civic/teg swaps i see always have hood cutouts for the motor since they don't fit... i'd prefer a clean setup with a stock closing hood...

You're right. The engine and transmission is mounted lower so that the hood will close. I did not want the engine sticking out of the hood so that compromise had to be made. It does reduce ground clearance though. Right now, the motor sits about 3-3.5 inches above the ground so I always slowly slide up high points. (About the same as my MR2 Spyder) I will take some pictures of the entire car Wednesday or something.
Otherwise, it actually looks very ordinary. Other than the 18 inch wheels and the TL dual exhaust, there is no way of knowing this has a V6 engine in it.

Very interesting! I didn't know that VQ35 Sentras were possible swaps. How did it drive as an everyday car? (Besides being a little compromised)
My next project might be a Yaris/Corolla 2GR. (3.5 V6)
My Integra actually drives like a TL. I owned a 2001 CL and 2003 TL, both Type-S, and the Integra drives like both since I mostly drive on highways. Only thing that differs is handling, which is sharper, and acceleration.

Thanks for the video.
One of the things I miss most about driving Acuras is that nice growly J-series sound. The closest I get to that now is by gunning my wife's Pilot (J35) onto the freeway.

I was...2003 SMT here. Do I sense another owner of a sticky spyder with a frunk? By the way, I am considering swapping a 2ZZ (but I don't know whether the SMT will like it) or 2GR altogether.

My son's car had some serious understeer (as can be expected) but generally drove like any other Spec V....that is until you lay on the throttle.

you seem to like the v6 swap into the smaller cars so go for the 2GR if you can... i wish there were more people that would do it so there is more documentation/support for it... no replacement for displacement...
everyone does the 2zz since it is easier and i havent seen an SMT work yet, but i figure why do all that work for only 50hp...
here's my car...
