Anyone ever see a stick without a tach?

Anyone ever see a stick without a tach?
Looking for a beater for a friend in NY I came across a Hyundai. It was a 5 speed stick & didn't have a tach. WTF! How could that be?? I never heard of something like that. Maybe it was an auto, & someone swapped in a stick?

My friend's old 5-speed Dodge Shadow didn't have a tach either.

for every day driving you don't need a tach, the engine will tell you if your ringing the heck out of it out by the engine noise and acceleration. Plus I don't think ever look at the tach unless i'm trying to swap gears right at redline while driving in the cayons.

My old 1993 Suzuki Sidekick with no tach and power nothing. POS. Top speed ~135km/h (drag limited)

Had an old '85 F150 without a tach. That truck was so much fun to drive too...it was a little gutless wonder.

I had a 98 S-10 4 cyl. It had a shift light but no tach. That truck was a POS.

My first ever car, a Daihatsu Charade 1.0 Turbo Diesel, didnt have a tach and it was only a 4 speed, boy that thing was a zippy lil character.

My uncle's '95 S10 4 banger didn't have a tach. All it has to remind you to shift is the "Shift" idiot light that flashes whenever you get to that speed.

Many without tachs. Sometimes, the speedo has markings signifying redline.

i didnt bother reading the first page of this but a lot of toyotas dont have tachs and are manuals.

A lot of your older cars dont have a tach. Unless it was a sportcar of course. Which some still dint' have one. You'll be fine if you dont have a tach with a stick. Just listen and make sure that you aren't revving the hell out of the car.
