Anyone else having that car buying bug?

Ever since I got rid of the C, I have been craving speed badly. I promised myself that I would drive the Tahoe till I got out of grad school which means no car for 2 more years. It's a great SUV and is wonderful around college but I miss that raw power I had before and the fun factor that the C gave me.

I know we are always looking but is anyone close to getting something new? If you are, what are you getting?

I'd love to buy an Elise right now, but a new home is much more important to me- growing up sucks

Having the money makes it SOOOOO much more tempting, but a house is a higher priority- besides if I buy the right house at the right price I can get an Elise for "free" from it after a few years- wishfull thinking I guess.

I always have a car buying bug, but I'm an auto enthusiast, so that's a given... Thank god, I'm a cheap bastard. It's the only thing that saves me from having 1/2 dozen cars...

One day it's something new, another day it's something old (TSX, 72 Porsche 911)...

Hmmm... Today I want a Porsche 993... tomorrow, who knows... Oh, and I saw a MB CLS today... sweet, I want one of those too

Exactly my problem. 911 is my dream car and you can get 996 models for not much money at all now. There is a 996 on autotrader right now that is absolutely perfect and would be in my driveway if I wasn't back at school where little fucktards would mess with it.

I will be getting a USED car soon.....but it'll be new to me
I am CONSTANTLY wanting a new/different car, it won't be until I can afford the SUV/convert. combo that I'll be happy I think.
Til then, I'll just have to settle....

I get tired of cars pretty quick too.

I'd like to get into something else but I keep telling myself the TSX is the perfect daily driver. I think I've decided on keeping the TSX for the forseable future and getting a weekend toy
like a used S2000 or Vette in a few more years.

But the itch is hard to control.

yeah it hits me from time to time too...

there are some days i regret not having the power of a g35coupe i was considering but then on roadtrips i love the practicality of the 4 doors on my tsx...

i know the tsx is finacially a better buy for me so i can save up for a house, but i know i could have afforded more car, but then again the tsx will last me for as long as i need it if i were to get into any financial insecurity in the future...

but its all good, hopefully i will have enough for a downpayment on a house in 2 years and then i will be at a point where i can pick up the next gen M3 4 door and throw that in my driveway...

I have been having the car buying bug ever since I saw the pictures of the new Lexus IS. The recent event with my Prelude (as posted here, https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23469) even raised the level of my car buying bug. I'm not really craving for speed, just craving for a new car for daily duties, so that I can start converting my Prelude to a track car.

I always want a new car, even when I get a new car.......I want a different one.

With that, still have the M3 and just sold the STI.

So for the moment I won't be getting anything, only have 6k miles on the M3.

Not sure if I'm going to pack up and leave town or buy a condo in this shit state.

So priorities have shifted a bit.

I'm dying to get a 3rd gen TL. I miss manual soooooooo much more than I thought! Why oh why did I settle for auto? I guess cause I got such a good deal on my first gen and couldn't spend more than $13000 CDN, but I've always had that itch.

As much as I like the TSX and TL, I'm concerned about the dearth of affordable, good-looking, good-performing two-doors on the market that aren't Acura RSX (soon to die?) or Ford Mustangs.

I went to look at Audis today and I nearly started humping the 6-speed white S4 sitting oh so beautifully in the back of the dealership. It's nice to dream, but I have to get rid of my TL-S soon, too many problems.

If you can't stand Acura problems ... then go over to Audi?!
'The problems with my Acura are too cheap and easy, I want Audi problems.'

Of course, if you're looking at leasing an Audi ...

I didn't explain myself well enough. My Acura has honestly been cursed since the day I've had it. It has been pretty good to me (outside of the rattles), but I can't seem to get out of problems that are mostly caused by the fact that this car wants to ruin my life. I just basically need a new start, because every single thing that could've happened with this car has happened, and everyone that has met me knows the car has a weird jinx on it.

For the record, this is what has happened:
flood damage ($12k, mind you. car should've been totaled there), transmission went on Christmas DAY, got hit by a woman in an Expedition ($6k), several blown tires, came out of a mall parking lot and my front fender was crushed ($1000), today my rim started corroding (???), and other small things as well. Not very pleasant.

In that case, I'll give Audis a shot, maybe the relationship between Acuras and me aren't meant to be.

Yeah, that TL is cursed.

If you don't have any experience previously with Audi, I would recommend leasing first before actually buying one. German cars are complex and can develop all sorts of issues, not that it's not possible to get a good one.

I stumbled across a M5 for sale last week and am at the breaking point of selling my 540i/6 to get it. Just need to convince the wife that a $500/mo car loan ain't all that bad.

same here, trying to convince my dad that the IS>TL for his new car. BTW, if you sell your TSX in the near future, I might be willing to purchase some of your products. In a perfect world, I'd have my dream Advan Kreuzer Series X rims, but god do they require some money. Let me know if you're eventually interested at all, I might be as well.

I sure do/did.

Like any other car enthusiast here I get tired and want something frsh and different all teh time.

But I started serisously these past couple weeks after my return to freelance. I might need something a little more utility based then my CL.

I started looking/driving everything under the sun. Then, I realized I wanted a wagon cause I can retain sporty driving with a manual tranny and have good utility.

So, I was trying to make a deal on a used S4 avant...didnt happen. Then I was looking at the volvo v70R....but NO ONE in ALL of SoCal has one in a stick...so i drove a s60R stick to see if one was worth trying to dealer locate....sadly...car is only fun between 2k-5k. wasnt horrible...but wasnt great either.

I really want an 06 s4 avant...but fuck me if i could ever afford that. I could barely afford the 01 I wanted.

So...I finally said fuck it. I'm sick of looking and test driving and wanting what i cant afford at the moment.
